Dracaena marginata Kiwi is a hardy plant with long, slender green leaves edged with a bright yellowy gold! The leaves grow in a dense clump at the ends of the branches in such a way that they look like the backs of porcupines perched on a trunk. While the leaves look sharp and jagged at a glance, they are just as soft as normal leaves and won’t leave a scratch. Not too fussy about light and water, these plants are excellent for any level of plant parent!

 

DRACAENA MARGINATA CARE 


LIGHT 

Dracaena marginata plants prefer a bright, indirect light source. They can be happy in lower light conditions, but they won’t thrive in the same way as they would with a brighter light. Be aware though, you'll want to keep it away from the direct sunlight, this can burn the leaves.

WATER

Dracaenas in general are wonderfully drought-resistant and don’t require a lot of water, so we recommend waiting until the soil is on the drier side before watering. Water thoroughly until water collects in the drainage tray. 

These plants are sensitive to unfiltered water, and sometimes tap water can have fluoride and other salts that can cause the tips of dracaena’s leaves to get brown and crispy. The easiest way to avoid adding those salts and minerals to the soil is to fill your watering can and let it sit out for a day or so before watering.

GROWTH HABITS

Marginatas (like most Dracaenas) are slow growers, so no need to worry too much about pruning. But if your tree starts to get a little big or too long, grab some clean and sharp shears to cut it back.

Ultimately, the agent was very kind and understanding, and completed the claim filing process for me on her side by asking me to provide the necessary info such as the item's product name, date of purchase, price before taxes, etc. I received a printable UPS shipping label in the email, printed it, and returned the item in the mail. Approximately 2 days later, I received an Amazon giftcard code in the email with the dollar amount equal to the item's price before the sales tax. Then I redeemed the giftcard code on the Amazon page and proceeded to apply the giftcard money to my next purchase of a replacement Asus prime motherboard, and it all worked out successfully. Therefore, I had no issues with the protection plan service and recommend it to others.

Fast and easy but I dont trust the process to be fully automated.
The process was very smooth and fairly quick. The only challenge I had was that the CLAIM status showed complete but I had to manually go look up the status. There was no email or notification it was closed. After manually checking the status, I called customer support and they said since I called in, they would process the payout. I wonder if I didnt call in if they would have processed it? Also, the phone rep said they would issue me a amazon egift card but then the next day I received a email saying they mailed out the payout. Very poor communication but so far the process was easy and fast.

Affordable protection plan and superb customer care
I usually don’t buy extended warranty, but I took a chance and added a 4-year Asurion Protection Plan to my purchase of a Canon PIXMA printer. So glad I did!! After only a year and a half, my printer showed an error message 6800. Cannon website states “Support code 6800 generally indicates a failure with the logic board on your printer. Service will be required.” How convenient for that to happen shortly out of Canon’s regular 1-year warranty (🙄). I called Canon. Long story short…they couldn’t do anything for me unless I purchase a warranty plan from them and they send me a replacement or I would need to pay for a repair. No thanks. I called Asurion and talked to a very nice tech support person. She couldn’t get rid of the error message remotely, so she transferred me to another very nice support specialist, who helped me start a repair claim. Asurion mailed me a box with a lot of packing material, along with shipping instructions and label to ship my printer to them for free. A few days into the repair process, they determined my Canon printer was unrepairable and they emailed me an Amazon gift card that same day for the cost of my crappy Canon printer. They were in total communication via email throughout the repair process. I highly recommend Asurion, and I would definitely purchase another protection plan from them again.
