It prefers well-draining soil that is mixed with pumice, clay, and loam to prevent root rot, which it is susceptible to. The colour will intensify in bright light especially over summer. We recommend full sun through most of the year. We protect ours under 50% white shade cloth over summer only, and still achieve the deepest red's as shown in images.
