Gardeners love these easy-to-grow plants for their bold, architectural foliage to help give definition to outdoor spaces and to complement colorful flowers. Plant in spring when the soil has warmed in a full- to part-sun location in wet or moisture-retentive soil, and feed and water regularly for best results. Elephant Ears are also popular houseplants and can be grown in large containers with plenty of watering and added humidity. Elephant Ears are perennial in zones 7-10; In cooler zones, these bulbs can be dug after frost comes, stored over winter, then re-planted the following spring; if planted in containers, store in a frost-free place over the winter.
