About this Kit
Lavender is one of the world's most cherished, best known, and widely cultivated floral herbs. Its striking, aromatic spires of blue-violet blooms have been known and grown across the globe for almost three thousand years. This 100% guaranteed grow kit provides everything you need to grow your own Lavender plants from seed!
Welcome to the Purple Kingdom!
Of the hundreds of Lavender varieties, the Purple Kingdom has four standouts: English, French, Spanish, and Lavandin. Each of these four most popular Lavenders has different characteristics of color, flavor, hardiness, and growth habit. English Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), which is included in this kit, is sometimes called "True Lavender," and is the most popular and widely planted Lavender in the world thanks to its gorgeous purple-blue blooms and an essential oil that is delicate, sweet, and floral. The color lavender got its name from the beautiful flowers of English Lavender.
Lavender is a versatile, low-maintenance plant that abides a wide variety of growing situations and climates. Amazingly, it grows well anywhere from New England to Hawaii, thriving in both cold climates (to -20°F!) as well as sub-tropical zones. Highly drought-tolerant, Lavender prefers full sun locations and well-drained soils, and is equally happy in containers and planter boxes as it is living in the landscape.
➤ In addition to detailed growing and planting instructions, each kit includes tons of information on the natural history of Lavender and its many uses.
