Product Name: Tag Mix
Technical Name: Metsulfuron-Methyl 10% WP + Chlorimuron-Ethyl 10% WP
Product Type: Herbicide
Brand Name: Tropical Agro
Product Overview:
Tag Mix is a herbicide made up of Metsulfuron-Methyl 10% WP + Chlorimuron-Ethyl 10% WP. It is designed for weed control in rice (both transplanted and direct seeded under puddled condition). It works both through contact action (killing weeds already up) and residual soil activity (preventing further weed establishment), giving longer-lasting protection. It’s flexible , usable pre-emergence, post-emergence, and for direct sown rice; and it’s not prone to volatilization, so less risk to nearby crops.
Summary:
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Product Form | Wettable Powder (WP) |
| Mode of Action | Contact action + residual soil activity; controls weeds already present and prevents new germination in soil. |
| Crops Applicable | Rice (transplanted rice & direct sown rice under puddled condition) |
| Weeds Controlled | Broadleaf weeds and sedges in rice fields in both transplanted and direct seeded systems. |
| Timing of Application | - Transplanted rice: pre-emergence (~3 days after transplanting) and post-emergence (21-25 days after) - Direct sown rice (puddled): ~20 days after sowing. |
| Dose / Rate | 8 grams per acre. |
| Application Method | Foliar spraying using high volume sprayer; use flat fan or flood jet nozzle; add non-ionic surfactant at 2 ml per litre water. |
Benefits:
- Dual action – controls existing weeds and prevents new germination through residual effect.
- Effective on major rice weeds – broadleaf weeds and sedges in transplanted and direct-sown rice.
- Flexible application – can be used pre-emergence and post-emergence.
- Low dosage – only 8 g/acre, making it cost-effective.
- Crop safety – safe when used as per recommendation in rice.
- Non-volatile – minimal risk of harming adjacent crops through drift.
-
Long-lasting control – provides extended protection in rice fields.
