Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses'

Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses' is a colourful Chinese evergreen with broad, oval leaves marked in green, cream and soft pink tones. It grows as an upright leafy clump, with long petioles lifting each blade above the crown. The colour sits across the leaf surface in soft patches, blushes and streaks, so each plant shows its own balance of green, cream and pink.

This is a medium-sized indoor foliage plant with enough height to stand clearly in a pot while still fitting on a sideboard, shelf end or plant table. Young plants tend to look dense and rounded; with age, the stems lengthen slightly and the crown opens, giving the leaves room to show their full shape.

Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses' visible details

  • Upright, clumping Aglaonema with long petioles and full leaves
  • Broad oval foliage with green, cream and pink markings
  • Softly varied leaf pattern with natural differences between individual leaves
  • Keep in a warm, bright-to-medium indoor position

Broad leaves, pink marks and indoor growth

Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses' produces smooth, slightly pointed leaves with a broad surface and gently arching posture. The petioles give the plant height, so it develops the impression of a small leafy shrub. New leaves emerge from the central crown and gradually harden into their mature colouring as they expand.

The cream-green areas can be more visible on some leaves, while the pink accents may appear as blushes, small marks or streaks. Stable, filtered light keeps new leaves firmer and more even, while harsh sun can leave marks on the paler sections.

Aglaonema species are tropical forest aroids associated with warm, shaded, humid habitats. In pots, keep the roots warm, lightly moist between waterings, and surrounded by an airy medium. 'Bit Kisses' is a cultivated Aglaonema selection.

Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses' care points

  • Light: Give bright indirect light for clean leaf development. Medium light is usually suitable, while very dim positions slow the formation of new leaves.
  • Watering: Let the upper layer of substrate dry before watering again. The broad leaves lose water steadily, while the fleshy stems and roots need air around them between waterings.
  • Substrate: Use a chunky, moisture-retentive houseplant mix. Fine bark, coco coir or peat-free fibre, perlite or pumice, and a small amount of composted material create a balanced root zone.
  • Drainage: Use a nursery pot or planter insert with drainage holes. After watering, let excess water run through fully before returning the plant to its cover pot.
  • Temperature: Keep in a warm room, ideally 18–26 °C. Temperatures below about 15–16 °C can stress the foliage and roots, especially when the substrate is wet.
  • Humidity: Moderate humidity reduces stuck or marked new leaves. In very dry rooms, use a humidifier nearby or group with other tropical foliage plants.
  • Feeding: Feed at low strength every 3–4 weeks in spring and summer. Pause or reduce feeding when growth slows in winter.
  • Repotting: Repot when roots circle the pot or the plant dries very quickly. Use a pot only slightly wider than the root ball.
  • Leaf care: Wipe dust from the leaves with a soft damp cloth. Clean leaves make the pink and cream markings easier to see and help you spot pests early.
  • Pruning: Cut tired leaves close to the base. If an older stem becomes bare, it can be propagated as a stem cutting with nodes.
  • Propagation: Divide established clumps or root stem sections in warm conditions. Each division needs roots and at least one healthy growing point.
  • Mineral substrates: This cultivar can be grown in semi-hydro or mineral mixes after careful acclimation. Start with a healthy, actively growing plant and keep temperatures stable during transition.

Leaf and crown checks for Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses'

  • Brown edges on pale leaf sections: Check for direct sun, dry air, fertiliser residue or irregular watering. Pale tissue often shows stress marks first.
  • Drooping leaves with wet soil: Inspect the roots and reduce watering frequency. Droop with wet soil often indicates poor oxygen around the roots.
  • Several yellow leaves at once: Look for cold exposure, a waterlogged pot or a recent change in location. Correct the root conditions before removing healthy foliage.
  • Small distorted new leaves: Check for pests around the crown and leaf bases. Thrips and mites can damage leaves while they are still folded.
  • Weak, stretched growth: Move the plant to brighter filtered light and rotate the pot regularly so the crown develops evenly.

Display notes for Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses'

Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses' shows clear colour where the leaves receive soft overhead or side light. Because the plant has long petioles, place it where the leaves have enough room around the crown. A simple pot shape keeps attention on the broad leaves and their soft pink markings.

Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses' safety note

Aglaonema 'Bit Kisses' contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. Keep it out of reach of pets and children, as chewed plant tissue can cause irritation of the mouth and throat. Wear gloves when cutting stems or dividing the plant for skin that reacts easily to aroid sap.

The "Lazy Professional" Look: Is Hands-Free Luxury Actually Real?
Size: 9.5, Color: Black Napa Leather
Living down here in Florida, my footwear needs are pretty specific. It’s hot, it’s humid, and I spent half my life rushing from the car into work or a meeting. I’ve reached that age where I value efficiency just as much as style—maybe more. I’ve been eyeing the Marc Joseph New York Hands-Free Slip-on Penny Loafers for a while, and after putting them through the wringer, here is the honest truth from someone who just wants to look sharp without the hassle. The "Just Step-In" Reality Look, the big selling point here is the "Hands-Free" tech. We’ve all seen the commercials for those athletic slip-ins, but finding that in a legitimate leather penny loafer is a different game. Does it work? Yes, surprisingly well. The heel counter is firm enough that it doesn’t collapse when you slide your foot in, but it doesn’t feel like a piece of plastic digging into your Achilles once you’re in. For those of us who are tired of bending over or hunting for a shoehorn every morning, this is a genuine quality-of-life upgrade. The Florida Factor: Comfort and Style The leather is actual calfskin (on most models), which is a must for the Florida heat. Synthetic shoes turn into a sauna within ten minutes, but these breathe reasonably well. The aesthetic is classic—it’s a "professor" shoe through and through. You can wear them with chinos and a blazer for work or throw them on with some nice jeans for a weekend lunch. Inside, they’ve got a gel heel insert and a padded footbed. It’s not quite "walking on a cloud"—let’s not over-hype it—but it’s a massive step up from the hard, flat soles of traditional dress loafers. I’ve spent four hours on my feet lecturing, and my arches didn’t hate me by the end of the day. The Sizing Gamble Here’s where you need to be careful. The consensus from other guys (and my own experience) is that the sizing is a bit of a coin toss. They tend to run a little large and sometimes wide. If you have narrow feet, you might find the sides "gaping" or flaring out when you walk, which kills the sleek look. I’d recommend ordering a half-size down if you’re usually between sizes. The Breakdown The Pros: True Hands-Free: You can actually put these on while holding a coffee and a briefcase. No hands needed. Legit Materials: The calf leather feels premium and smells like the real deal. Versatility: Perfectly bridges the gap between a "car shoe" and a formal loafer. Comfort: The gel insert makes a noticeable difference for long-duration wear. The Cons: Sizing Inconsistency: They can run wide, leading to some "heel slip" if you don't get the perfect fit. Break-in Period: The heel is stiff by design (to allow for the slip-on feature), so expect a day or two of minor stiffness. Price Point: They aren't cheap, though often on sale. Value for Money Are they worth it? If you’re comparing them to high-end Italian brands that cost $500, these are an absolute steal. They look 90% as good for a fraction of the price. However, if you're used to $60 mall shoes, the jump to $150+ might feel steep until you realize you’re paying for the convenience of never having to touch your shoes to put them on. For a daily driver in a professional setting, the value is definitely there.

Step In Look Good
Size: 11.5, Color: Cognac Napa Leather
I am wearing these shoes as I write this review, and they look and feel great. I have a bit of a disability with drop foot on the right leg and bilateral neuropathy and have been wearing step in shoes for about 10 years. But the first company that introduced leather dress and casual shoes stopped making them and now only makes sport and casual shoes. So I have been searching for some that meet my need for shoes like this and this company has given me three pairs, so far. Easy to get into, comfortable to wear, and good looking. And they take polish very well, too. (Remember how to do that?). We may buy another pair or two in different styles as well.
