Aglaonema 'Red Army' is an attractive and vibrant houseplant, famous for its vibrant red and green leaves. It adds a vibrant pop of color to any indoor space, while being easy to care for and suited to low-light conditions.
Origin: Aglaonema is native to tropical regions of Southeast Asia.
Growth: This plant has moderate growth and can reach a height of 50 to 70 cm. It grows in compact clumps, making it ideal for pots and planters.
Flowers: Aglaonema 'Red Army' produces small, inconspicuous spadix-like flowers similar to those of other members of the Araceae family, but they are generally unremarkable compared to its colorful foliage.
Light: This plant prefers indirect, dim light, but can tolerate low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, as this can burn its delicate leaves.
Watering: Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist, but allow the top layer of the substrate to dry out between waterings. In winter, reduce watering frequency to avoid waterlogging.
Substrate: Use a well-draining houseplant potting mix rich in organic matter. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.
Toxicity: Aglaonema 'Red Army' is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Handle with care and keep out of reach of children and pets.
