It's often called the "velvet plant" because the signature purple color isn't actually in the leaf itself; but comes from thousands of tiny, soft, deep-violet hairs (setae) covering the green foliage. Find a home for this beauty in moderate to bright light and provide moderate, consistent moisture and humidity; similar to orchid care. Too much light can cause burn on leaf tips.
