Dahlia 'Bacardi' is a decorative dahlia variety that brings vibrant color and elegance to any garden. This striking plant features bold pink-red blooms that deepen to a darker center, creating a captivating gradient effect. The petals have a slight sheen, enhancing their visual appeal and adding a touch of brilliance to the garden. Each flower typically measures 4.5 to 6 inches in diameter, with blooms that catch the eye with their rich, vivid hues. The 'Bacardi' dahlia grows to a height of approximately 35 to 40 inches, making it perfect for borders, containers, and as a stunning cut flower that brings vibrant color indoors. Blooming from July to October, this variety ensures a long season of color that brightens up the garden when many other plants are fading. This dahlia thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Plant the tubers in spring once the danger of frost has passed, about 1 to 2 inches deep and 12 inches apart for proper growth and air circulation. Regular watering helps maintain soil moisture, and deadheading spent flowers encourages continuous blooming. In colder regions, it’s recommended to dig up the tubers after the first frost and store them in a cool, dry place for winter protection to ensure they come back strong the following year. With its rich color palette, manageable size, and long-lasting blooms, Dahlia 'Bacardi' is a must-have addition to any garden, bringing bold beauty and interest throughout the season.
