  • Widely Adaptable

  • Deer Don't Prefer the Taste

Showcase these petite, fine-textured plants in your landscape to add a punch of hot color and a zesty fragrance. No wonder Firewitch Dianthus (Dianthus gratianapolitanus 'Firewitch') won the Perennial of the Year award.

You'll fall for the combination of delicate petals, and the sheer visual impact of their bold color. The outstanding, prolific display runs from mid to late spring, completely covering the foliage.

Watch for additional blooms throughout the summer and even into fall! Every single one of their fringed petals will make you happy.

"Pinks", as they are nicknamed, are very fragrant. Their blooms smell like an intoxicating, spicy mix of Clove and Carnations.

The grass-like, gray-green foliage makes a nice, lacy foil for your taller perennials in a border. Add these as exquisite "Filler" to your outdoor containers, as well.

They might look tender and delicate, but they are very rugged. After all, Firewitch is cold hardy all the way up into Canada, laughs at high humidity, and is heat tolerant to blistering Zone 9.

Tiny, mighty Firewitch Dianthus gives you a profuse show of charming flowers and a durable, easy-care addition to your plantings. You'll also enjoy the butterflies, who come for a visit and a nectar snack from the flat blooms.

Fill your space with their wonderful fragrance this season!

How to Use Firewitch Dianthus in the Landscape

These wonderful plants should play a starring role in your Spring Garden. Brighten up the sunny edge of your high-visibility foundation planting. Or, add them to the front of your garden beds as a long "ribbon" of color.

Space them six inches apart on center. Measure from the center of one to the center of the next. They will grow together and touch.

Accent your rock gardens with Firewitch planted at the base of specimen boulders. No need for special care beyond its first season, as the roots get established in your native soil.

Perfume your seating area with containers of Firewitch as a designer "Filler". Love Red Hot cinnamon candies? This plant smells just as spicy-sweet!

If you are handy, try your hand at drying the blooms. Add the petals to handmade sachets and potpourri that stay sweet, never cloying or overpowering.

Make your guests happy by placing them along walkways or paths. They'll ask you all about what the fantastic scent is.

Dianthus is a mainstay in a personal humble-jumble Cottage Garden. Place them by your entryway as a small, showy greeting and well-wishing goodbye.

Create special presents with two or three of them potted up in a pretty container. Give the gift of joy with these lovely plants.

#ProPlantTips for Care

Firewitch needs a sunny site with well-drained soil. It loves the heat, humidity and sun. They need at least 6 hours of sunlight a day to flower their best.

Get their roots well-established in your soil with regular watering during the first year. Once established, they are even tolerant of periodic drought, but apply water in extended dry spells.

Tidy them up by deadheading the spent blooms. You'll encourage additional flushes of pink blooms later in the season.

In early spring, trim down the old foliage to an inch above ground level and gently rake out fallen leaves. Apply an organic, slow-release fertilizer formulated for flowering plants at that time.

Firewitch Dianthus is an outstanding small perennial that helps you make the most of your landscape with color and scent. Order yours from the expert growers at Nature Hills today!

Not a chew toy
Color: red&green
Our dogs love these! The dogs play for about a half hour then they get tired ,they pick it up by the string and toss it around , only important thing, supervise play time !!! This will break if chewed on , this is not a chew toy , put away once your dogs are done with it .

Fits Cats not Dog size
Color: red&green
Sure these balls are cute, but most definitely not a dog size. I wouldn’t waste your money, unless you own a cat!

Not durable
Color: red&green
The description says for cats and dogs. My 6lb mini poodle tore it up in less than 40 minutes. The red one worked but the green one wouldnt even turn on. The indicator said it was fully charged but u plugged it in for a short time but nothing. I dont know if i can get a refund or not since the cover on the red one has been completely torn off. I dont recommend this product

This is an awesome toy for dogs and cats!
Color: red
This is such a cool toy for a dog or a cat. I bought it for my 28 pound Aussie doodle. She’s slightly laid up after an injury recently so I’m trying to come up with things she can play with in the house without excessive running. This totally keeps her engaged and she loves it. But I have to watch her because every once in a while she’ll just catch it and try and chew on the ball! But I’ve been sharing it with my neighbor who has a cat. She’s borrowing it today and her cat loves it too! It seems pretty durable overall but it certainly doesn’t want my dogs’s jaws trying to crack it into. You do hear a humming noise while it’s running but I think that’s to be expected. Mostly I just love how much it entertains both dogs and cats!!

So cute and entertaining to watch!
Color: pink
Bought for my miniature schnauzer. She didn’t know what to think at first but loves it now. It’s so much fun watching her play and keeps her busy! My dog isn’t much of a chewer and loves the movement/chase of this toy. Wouldn’t recommend for big dogs or chewers as there’s a plastic piece that can come off.
