Liquid nutrient schedule vs. Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4
Liquid Nutrient Schedule
  • Measure and mix multiple bottles every single watering
  • pH pen required, adjust every feed to stay in range
  • Salt buildup over time, flush protocol needed before harvest
  • Starter kits run $30+ for a 3-part system, plus supplements
  • Overfeeding burns roots fast with no buffer
  • Soil biology largely ignored, nutrients fed directly to plant
Gaia Green All Purpose
  • Top-dress once a month, water normally in between
  • Soil biology handles nutrient availability, most growers skip pH adjustment
  • No salt buildup, no flush needed, organic inputs only
  • Available in 500g, 2 kg, 10 kg, and 20 kg to fit any grow size
  • Slow-release formula is forgiving, hard to burn plants at recommended rates
  • Feeds the soil food web: microbes break down ingredients and deliver nutrients on demand
One blend, built from ingredients that release at different speeds

One top-dress per month replaces a feeding schedule Top-dress & water

The blend includes fast-release ingredients like blood meal alongside slow-release minerals like greensand, so one application feeds plants for 3 to 4 weeks without reapplying. No bottles, no syringes, no pH pens.

Balanced 4-4-4 NPK with 75% fast-release nitrogen

3% of the 4% nitrogen is water-soluble for quick uptake in the first week. The remaining 1% is water-insoluble and becomes available as soil microbes process it, giving plants a fast start plus steady background feeding.

4.5% calcium and 2.3% sulfur already included

Calcium from bone meal, fishbone meal, oyster shell flour, and gypsum. Sulfur from potassium sulphate and gypsum. These are the two secondary nutrients most often missing from standard potting mixes, and both are included here.

Glacial rock dust and basalt for iron, magnesium, and trace minerals

Glacial rock dust comes from ice-age moraine deposits, basalt rock dust from volcanic rock. Together they supply iron, magnesium, manganese, and dozens of trace elements that single-source fertilizers miss.

Kelp meal for stronger roots and better transplant recovery

The kelp in this blend is Ascophyllum nodosum, a species harvested from cold North Atlantic waters. It contains natural plant growth compounds that promote root branching, help plants recover faster after transplant, and improve tolerance to heat and drought stress.

Alfalfa meal, insect frass, and humic acid feed the soil food web

These three ingredients act as food for beneficial fungi and bacteria in the root zone. A healthy microbial population means nutrients stay locked in the soil instead of washing out the bottom of the pot every time you water.

What the math looks like

Pre-mixing soil

At the recommended 3 tbsp per gallon, a 5-gallon pot uses 15 tbsp (about 1 cup) per fill. A 10-gallon pot uses 30 tbsp (about 2 cups). Even the 2 kg size pre-mixes multiple pots before you need to reorder.

Monthly top-dressing

At 1 tbsp per gallon, a 5-gallon pot uses 5 tbsp per month. That's a fraction of the tub per application, so even the smallest sizes last many months of monthly top-dresses across several containers.

Raised beds and gardens

Gaia Green recommends 5 lbs per 100 sq ft for garden beds. One tub covers about 88 sq ft per application, roughly a 9x10 ft plot.

How to use it: pre-mix, top-dress, transition, repeat

1

Pre-mix into fresh soil before planting

Blend 3 tablespoons per gallon of potting mix. Distribute evenly, moisten the soil, and let it sit 24 to 48 hours before planting so microbes can begin breaking down the ingredients.

2

Top-dress once a month during vegetative growth

Sprinkle 1 tablespoon per gallon of soil on the surface. Scratch lightly into the top half-inch and water in. Between top-dresses, just water normally.

3

Switch to Power Bloom when plants start flowering

Transition your top-dress to Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4 for the higher phosphorus and potassium flowering plants need. Many growers run 50/50 at the transition, then 100% Power Bloom for late flower.

4

Re-amend and reuse spent soil

After harvest, pull the root ball, mix 3 tablespoons per gallon of 4-4-4 back in with a cup of worm castings per gallon, and let it sit moist for 2 to 4 weeks. The soil is ready for the next plant without buying fresh media.

What you get, what it works with, and what to pair it with
Sizes we carry
  • 500g (1.1 lbs): Trial size, enough to top-dress a few pots for one cycle
  • 2 kg (4.4 lbs): Most popular for home growers, lasts multiple cycles in containers
  • 10 kg (22 lbs): Multi-cycle supply for serious home or small commercial grows
  • 20 kg (44 lbs): Best per-pound value, covers large gardens or commercial operations
  • All sizes: CDFA Certified Organic, Ecocert Canada approved, fine powder (non-granulated)
Works with
  • Growing media: Pro-Mix, Fox Farm Ocean Forest, Roots Organics, coco coir, peat-based mixes, garden soil
  • Plants: Tomatoes, peppers, herbs, leafy greens, houseplants, shrubs, fruit trees, flowers, and most annual or perennial crops
How many tubs do I need? A 5-gallon pot uses 15 tbsp to pre-mix and 5 tbsp per monthly top-dress. For raised beds, plan on one tub per 88 sq ft of bed space per application.

Frequently asked questions
For vegetative growth, 4-4-4 covers your base nutrition on its own. For flowering and fruiting plants, you'll need Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4 to provide the extra phosphorus and potassium those stages demand. Many growers also add worm castings for microbial activity. Under LED lights, a small amount of epsom salt every two weeks can help cover the increased magnesium demand that LEDs create.
It works in both. Coco is technically inert, so the dry amendment provides all the nutrition. Many growers mix 4-4-4 into a 70/30 coco-perlite blend at 3 to 4 tablespoons per gallon and get strong results. The main thing to know with coco is that it naturally binds calcium, so you may want to add a bit of extra gypsum or oyster shell flour up front. Some of those calcium sources are already in the blend, but coco-heavy setups sometimes benefit from a bit more.
In most cases, no. Organic dry amendments rely on soil biology to make nutrients plant-available, and that biology works across a wider pH range than salt-based liquid feeds. Growers using peat-based media like Pro-Mix (which includes dolomite and calcitic lime as built-in pH buffers) typically water straight from the tap without adjustment. If you're using a medium without any buffering agents, adding a small amount of dolomite lime or oyster shell to the mix will keep pH stable over time.
The dry powder has a noticeable earthy, slightly fishy smell when you open the tub and when you first mix it into soil. That's the blood meal, bone meal, and fishbone meal. Once it's worked into the soil and watered in, the smell fades within a day or two. It won't make your grow room stink long-term, but you'll notice it during application. If you're in a small apartment, mix and amend your soil near an open window.
The non-granulated version is a fine powder blend and is approved for organic agriculture. The granulated version compresses the same ingredients into uniform pellets for easier broadcasting on lawns and large garden beds, but the granulation process means it is not approved for certified organic use. For container growing and indoor gardens, the non-granulated (powder) version is what most growers use. The version we carry at Happy Hydro is the non-granulated, organic-approved blend.
Slow-release dry amendments are more forgiving than liquid nutrients, but overapplication can still cause issues over time. Signs of too much nitrogen include very dark green, waxy-looking leaves and downward leaf tip curl. If you're unsure, stick with the recommended rate and only increase if you see signs of deficiency (yellowing lower leaves, slow growth) after a full month. Cutting the rate in half for the first application and watching how your plants respond is a safe approach for beginners.

A Beautiful Timepiece at an Awesome Price!!
Color: Grey, Color: Grey
I have lusted after this watch for four months. I first tried on a similar model (stainless steel band with a green face) in a local jewelry shop (Spitz Jewlers, Walnut Creek, CA, USA). It was "love at first sight," even if I didn't love the white lines on the face from 12-6 and 3-9. At the time, the MSRP was $775. The MSRP has since increased to $795. But I bought this beauty on Amazon.com for only $524.99; after applying the cash-back from my Prime credit card, this watch costs only $498.75. This was "the offer that I could not refuse," to quote from "The Godfather." Accuracy could be better: after only a few days, it is now 7 seconds behind my phone (to which I set my new watch). But I don't really care about that all that much. This is why I rated "accuracy" at 4 stars, but my overall review is 5 stars. My video shows the date changing suddenly at 11:59:59pm, just how I want it; in another photo, you can see that my Seiko changes the date more slowly, which I do not like. This watch is absolutely phenomenally beautiful. If you're on the fence over whether to make this purchase, then I would say "go for it!" You will not find a prettier, more accurate watch at a lower price in ANY store in the entire USA.

Classy and sporty. Great value!
Color: Grey, Color: Grey
Excellent watch for the price. Looks sporty and dressy. More towards dress watch. Blue is dynamic. Strongly recommend blue for sporty feel. I was thinking of aqua terra. This come close to it with a price less than what i would have paid my state tax for omega aqua terra. My only concern is bracelet which i feel kind of OK. Better bracelet design would have made this watch much superior. 21 lug width is awful. Other than that, nothing to complain.

Stunning Gentleman's Watch
Color: Grey
This is my second Tissot watch. It's quite stunning in person. The online photos don't do it justice. It has the look and feel of a much more expensive gentleman's watch which makes this purchase a great bargain. Tissot is a great reliable Swiss made watch brand. My first Tissot watch which is probably more than 20 years old still runs great. Very pleased with this purchase.

Good Tissot Watch
Color: Grey
Arrived on time, in its original box, include a 2 year international warranty, into the box include a book with the Tissot brand history in Switzerland. Algo a second book with a whole catalog of Tissot watches men and women. The watch looks better when you put in on your wrist. The “naval” blue really gives the clock a classy look. The stainless steel workmanship is really good, the metal is bright and perfectly polished. The metal wristband quality is very good, did not have any problem to adjust the size , I went to my preferred clock workshop for this job, they extracted a few pieces of the band to fit to my small wrist size. Have to get used to the butterfly latch, but after a few days, now I learned to open and close it without any effort. The clock it’s very accurate, I’ve been using my Tissot for near a month and it just increased a few seconds per week. I do the setup and check accuracy with my pc clock. In short, It”s a good value watch, nice, good looking, accurate.

Good enough for Trump, good enough for me.
Size: 9, Color: Black Crazy Horse
Not gonna lie, the only reason I first bought these were because Trump likes this brand of shoes and the fake media ran a story about it. Once I got them and tried them on I was shocked just how comfortable they were. These are very nice and comfortable. I will definitely be buying more from this brand. Nice job Florsheim. 45/47
