Perennial. Hardy dwarf strain of English lavender that bears thick racemes of blue flowers. Preferred by landscapers for its compact form, cold-hardiness, and great longevity. Munstead Lavender is ideal for home gardeners and small-scale farmers seeking a fragrant, low-maintenance herb that supports pollinators and enhances garden aesthetics.
This heirloom variety thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, producing fragrant blooms from late spring through summer. Its silvery-green foliage and upright growth habit make it a striking choice for borders, herb gardens, and xeriscapes. Once established, Munstead is drought-tolerant and deer-resistant, requiring minimal inputs while contributing significantly to garden biodiversity.
Lavender is not only beautiful—it’s functional. The flowers can be harvested and dried for sachets, teas, or craft projects. Beneficial insects such as bees and butterflies are drawn to its nectar-rich blossoms, making it a cornerstone plant for pollinator-friendly gardening. Start seeds indoors in early spring or sow outdoors after the last frost. Plants typically reach 12–18 inches tall and bloom reliably year after year.
