About the Chocolate Carolina Reaper Pepper

The Chocolate Reaper is a Capsicum chinense variety prized for its deep brown color and bold flavor layered on top of extreme heat. As peppers mature, they transition from green to a rich chocolate-brown hue, developing wrinkled skin and distinctive stinger tails.

While the heat is intense, many growers note a complex flavor profile featuring smoky, floral notes with subtle hints of chocolate and spice before the heat fully takes over.

  • Heat Level: Extremely hot (often exceeding 1,500,000 Scoville Heat Units)

  • Flavor: Smoky and floral with subtle chocolate undertones, followed by intense heat

  • Pepper Appearance: Dark brown, heavily textured pods with stinger tails

  • Culinary Use: Hot sauces, powders, dehydrated flakes, and ultra-spicy cooking (use sparingly)

Growing & Care Information

  • Grower Experience Level: Expert

  • Growth Habit: Bushy, productive plant

  • Mature Plant Size: Approximately 3–4 feet tall

  • Pepper Pod Size: Typically 2–3 inches long

  • Days to Maturity: Approximately 90–110 days from transplant

  • Ways to Grow: In-ground garden beds, raised beds, and large containers with proper drainage

Don't recommend.
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Not at all what I was expecting. It must have been self or independently published. Returned. I will definitely be scrutinizing my next book purchase on this subject to more stringently. Also, Not that I care but claiming to be "7 books in one" is a false claim. But I kind of figured that before I purchased it. Its just bad. Big turn offs for me. -No/poor editing. -Page formatting makes my eyes bleed. -The font tries too hard to be fun--especially for an instructional book. -pages feel cheap. -image quality is abysmal. - none of the information I was looking for and lots of information I wasnt.

Not helpful
Format: Paperback
This book is so basic it doesn't really help much in tips on identifying rocks and minerals. The photos are enlarged so much they are distorted and most photos are of the rocks cleaned and polished. That doesn't help with how to spot things in nature or where to look. I'm really disappointed. Also, Montana has a lot of cool rocks but all books ever speak of are sapphires and agates. I feel like I wasted my money. There are some helpful things but even as a beginner, most of the contents are known.
