The philodendron Brazil is a fun twist on a classic looking house plant. The striking green and yellow stripes will add a pop of colour to any room. Mature length is up to 60 cm however the plant can stretch significantly past this. Prune regularly to promote growth at the base of the plant.
Lighting: Place in bright, indirect light, shielded from direct sunlight to prevent leaf damage.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, allowing the top inch to dry between waterings; be cautious not to overwater. Stick your finger into the soil to check its moisture level or use our moisture meter to take the guesswork out.
Potting mix: Use a well-draining potting mix like our Fafard potting soil when repotting
Temperature: Thrives in a warmer environment, within the range of 17-26°C. Avoid Drafts from windows and doors.
Humidity: Adaptable to various humidity levels; higher humidity promotes more dense growth.
Fertilization: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. We recommend our Sultz 10-15-10 . Reduce to 8 weeks in fall and winter.
Repotting: As they are a fast-growing plant, Repotting is normally recommended every 1,2 years or when you see roots coming out of the drainage of the pot. Use a pot no more than 5 cm larger than the existing pot.
