Snake Plant Laurentii is the classic, definitive Snake Plant — the one that has graced homes and offices for generations and remains one of the most recognizable houseplants in the world. Its tall, upright sword-shaped leaves are deep green with lighter cross-banding through the center and a clean bright yellow margin running along each edge. Architectural, bold, and virtually indestructible.
Good for beginners? Absolutely. Snake Plant Laurentii is one of the easiest houseplants in existence. It tolerates low light, drought, neglect, and temperature fluctuations without complaint. If you want a striking, architectural plant that asks almost nothing of you, this is the one.
Safe for cats and dogs? Snake Plant is toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs, or explore our pet-safe plant collection.
Light needs: Adaptable to low, medium, or bright indirect light. It genuinely survives in very low-light rooms. Brighter light encourages faster growth. Avoid prolonged direct sun which can bleach the yellow margins.
Care at a glance: Water only when soil is completely dry. Overwatering is the only real risk. Feed once or twice during spring and summer. Easily propagated from leaf cuttings — a great plant to share.
Ships fresh from one of our two greenhouse locations in a nursery pot. Covered by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee — if it arrives damaged, we replace it. Free shipping on orders $149+.
Botanical Name: Sansevieria trifasciata 'Laurentii'
