This is the Philodendron species that got us hooked from the beginning. The captivating, iridescent sheen on the velvety leaves is always stunning. P. verrucosum is a climbing species that requires a totem for support in order to produce full sized leaves. If given warm, humid conditions with adequate light, it grows FAST.

The native range of Philodendron verrucusom spans from Central America all the way south to Peru. We grow a wide range of ecotypes and one of our favorites is this clone we acquired from Germany a few years ago. We refer to it as "Euro clone 1". The new leaves open a brilliant red with green veins and slowly change to a palette of greens, purples and reds with brilliant veining. The backside of the leaves are equally brilliant. This is the fastest growing clone in our collection and we recently took some cuttings.
