Our hessian fabric, also known as burlap hessian fabric, is a strong woven material made from natural jute plant fibres. This fabric hessian is widely chosen for gardening and outdoor projects thanks to its heavy weight of 270gsm, giving reliable support for soil, plants and landscaping work.

Available in two widths, 1m and 1.37m, this hessian sacking fabric is naturally biodegradable and suitable for multiple uses in the garden.

Hessian Fabric Roll For Frost Protection In The Garden

This hessian fabric roll is a practical choice for protecting plants during colder months. Draping hessian fabric over plants helps insulate them against frost damage, particularly for tender varieties. The coarse weave of burlap hessian fabric allows airflow while giving natural protection from freezing temperatures, making it a useful material for gardeners in winter.

Burlap Hessian Fabric For Raised Beds And Soil Control

Fabric hessian is ideal for lining raised garden beds, preventing soil loss and keeping beds tidy. The natural strength of hessian sacking fabric makes it effective for stabilising soil and reducing erosion on slopes or uneven ground. Its breathable texture also helps control weeds while letting water drain freely, supporting healthier soil conditions.

Hessian Fabric Bags And Garden Landscaping Uses

Burlap hessian fabric can be cut and sewn into hessian fabric bags for storing garden produce, compost or other outdoor materials. It is also widely used in landscaping projects, where hessian fabric provides a natural and rustic finish. The coarse weave of this hessian fabric roll makes it suitable for both temporary coverings and long-term use in outdoor spaces.

What Is Hessian Fabric Made From?

Hessian fabric, also called burlap hessian fabric, is woven from the skin of jute plants. The natural fibres create a coarse and strong texture that is widely used in agriculture and garden projects. Fabric hessian is valued for being naturally biodegradable while providing strength for outdoor applications such as frost covers, soil stabilisation and hessian fabric bags.

Can Hessian Fabric Be Used To Protect Roots?

Yes, hessian fabric can be wrapped around roots during planting or transplanting, helping to keep them moist and secure until established in the soil.

Is Hessian Fabric Safe For Composting?

Hessian fabric made from natural jute fibres is fully biodegradable and can be added to compost heaps where it will break down naturally over time.

Can Hessian Fabric Be Used For Outdoor Paths?

Yes, laying fabric hessian beneath gravel or bark on garden paths helps prevent weeds while still allowing water drainage.

Can Hessian Fabric Be Painted Or Dyed?

Yes, hessian fabric can be painted or dyed for decorative or landscaping purposes, making it flexible for creative outdoor projects.

Is Hessian Fabric Suitable For Use Around Trees?

Yes, hessian sacking fabric can be wrapped around young tree trunks to protect against frost or used as ties when staking new trees.

Quality not as expected
Size: 10-12, Color: Black 5 Pairs
Upon opening the socks looked all right they fit well, but I questioned the durability. Unfortunately, within a few weeks, the stitching started to separate and now their are holes in most of the socks rendering them useless.

made well
Size: 8-10, Color: Black 4 Pairs
These socks fit really well. Comfortable and the price is a breath of fresh air with other brands of toe socks getting crazy expensive. Just went for my evening run and they felt GREAT.

Comfy and Warm
Size: Women 6.5-7.5, Color: Raisin
I'm very happy with these Original Slipper Socks. I normally wear a 6 1/2, so got these in XS/6 1/2-7 1/2. They are a little long on my feet, but they'll do. I'd rather have them be a little long than a little short, and perfectly sized slippers seem almost impossible to find these days. These slipper socks have a nice, comfy wide toe box, and the cushioned sole is soft, warm, and comfy. The suede on the bottom of the sole make these quiet and very comfy to wear around the house. The wool sock uppers are not itchy, but as comfy as a pair of warm socks.

Perfect for cool weather ...
Size: 12.5-13.5 Women/10.5-11.5 Men, Color: Light Grey Ragg Wool
I see a lot of complaints about fit and outdoor use of these ... I mean, these are slipper socks for indoor use! These are not shoes! If you want to walk outside in the snow, put on shoes or boots and then go outside ... I have two pair of these and they are great! I really like the real leather soles and foam insole, instead of the cheap plastic soles that are sold on most house shoes ... They were a little tight on my ankles when new, but they relaxed a bit and fit perfectly now. These are perfect for letting the TV watch you, sauntering, meandering, posing, consuming hot beverages, midnight strolls through the house, napping and all sorts of other indoor inactivity ... It has been a few years, and I must say, my Acorn's are still working strong. It is about 60 degrees inside, and I'm working in the garage on a cold concrete slab. The red stripes look especially special with my Adidas sweat pants.

Cozy but...
Size: Medium, Color: Light Grey Cotton Twist, Size: Medium, Color: Light Grey Cotton Twist
These slipper socks are nice but could be nicer. The sock portion does Not have a heel; they are tube socks with a footpad sewn on. This means there is a little tightness getting your foot past the turn and then you end up with a roll of sock over your upper foot. Once that is all made comfortable, you are good to go. I wear mine indoors and out for short trips to the patio and backyard. The sole material looks to be durable enough to last more than one season with this type of use. The footbed itself has just the right amount of padding: not so much that the foot can slid to the side and not so thin you can feel the joints in a tile floor ;-)
