‘Autumn Minaret’ is one of our favorites. The tallest variety we grow and also the latest to bloom, it is a beautiful but bittersweet reminder that the end of daylily season is just around the corner.
Small, 4″ butter yellow blooms with a rosy orange wash and halo appear on very tall 66″ scapes after most other varieties have finished blooming. A nice light fragrance adds a sweet touch to this already wonderful daylily.
Autumn Minaret is a very late season daylily for us. We typically see its first bloom around the beginning of July. If you are to our north, you’ll see it a few weeks after we do. If you live to our south, you’ll see it a couple of weeks before us.
As a dormant daylily, Autumn Minaret is best grown in gardens that receive a sustained winter cold period, like those in planting zones 8 and lower.
