Nymphaea ampla, commonly known as the white water lily or large white water lily, is an aquatic perennial plant that belongs to the Nymphaeaceae family. Native to parts of North and Central America, this water lily is characterized by its stunning, fragrant, white or cream-colored flowers that float gracefully on the surface of still or slow-moving freshwater bodies, such as ponds, lakes, and quiet streams. The leaves of Nymphaea ampla are large, round, and glossy green, with a unique cleft or notch at the base of each leaf that allows it to float effortlessly on the water's surface. These water lilies are not only valued for their ornamental beauty but also for their ecological significance in providing shade and shelter for aquatic life. Nymphaea ampla has a peaceful and serene presence, making it a favorite choice for water gardens and aquatic landscapes, while its delicate, fragrant blossoms attract pollinators and add a touch of elegance to any aquatic environment.  Zones 10-11

Germination

Nymphaea ampla can be grown from seeds, although the process can be somewhat challenging due to its aquatic nature. Start by preparing a container filled with fine sand or loamy soil and place it in a shallow water body, ensuring the seeds are fully submerged in about 6-12 inches (15-30 cm) of water. Keep the water temperature consistently warm, around 75-80°F (24-27°C), as this will encourage germination. It's crucial to provide plenty of sunlight, either by placing the container in a sunny spot or using artificial lighting. Germination can be quite slow, ranging from a few weeks to several months. Once the seedlings have developed, they can be transplanted into a larger aquatic environment where they can continue to thrive.

Highly Recommend!!!
I bought a second set of these toys for my puppy who is a Chorkie because he LOVES them! They're super durable, very bouncy, extremely light weight, soft and flexible. They're the same size as a golf ball so they're perfect for small dogs. I would highly recommend these especially if you have a puppy who likes to chew and play fetch.

Perfect size and very durable! Flexible but sturdy.
Perfect for my Frenchton puppy. Easy to pick up in her mouth and they are flexible but sturdy. Unfortunately lost all three already, lol, so guess I’ll be buying more. 🤦‍♀️

More like a cat toy size ball. Still a good toy.
I should have paid more attention to the size as they are slightly bigger than golf balls. The ones I was looking for are identical but about the size of a grapefruit. My dachshund has one and it is her favorite ball toy. That's on me though. These are more of a cat toy size ball. These do look like they are the same material as my pups larger one which is durable and fun for her to throw and bounce. The holes make it easy for the pups to grab and run quickly or catch in mid-air. I'm not sure how other small dogs would do but these are too small to play tug-of-war with my little girl and she is definitely not as interested in them as she is with her bigger one. I think we will donate these to animal control since I am sure they have some small dogs or cats that would appreciate these more than our picky girl lol. Still a great toy but just not the size she likes.

Nice, long lasting balls.
My dog is not an aggressive chewer and solely just wants to play fetch. As a small 8lbs dog, this is the perfect size for her. Typically these will dry rot after a few years of use. We do buy these so it’s a little bit less destructive while throwing a ball inside the house.
