With its twisting, spiral columns, this cactus brings sculptural elegance to any collection or landscape. Mature plants can grow tall and produce large, fragrant, night-blooming flowers that attract pollinators. As a cutting, it’s easy to root and rewarding to grow, making it a perfect choice for both collectors and adventurous beginners.
After Arrival
Carefully unpack your cactus cutting as soon as it arrives. Don’t be alarmed if the base looks dry—that’s completely normal. Allow the cutting to callous in a dry, shaded spot for 1–2 weeks before planting. Avoid watering during this period, as moisture too soon can cause rot.
Transplant Tips
When ready to plant, place the calloused cutting into a pot with fast-draining cactus soil. We recommend a gritty blend with pumice, perlite, coarse sand, or crushed granite, mixed with a small amount of organic matter. Ensure the pot has a drainage hole. Water lightly after 1–2 weeks, then allow soil to fully dry between waterings.
