Upstate Abundance Seed Potato (Solanum tuberosum 'Upstate Abundance')

Upstate Abundance is a gourmet, early-season potato variety prized for its delicate, nutty flavor and creamy texture. These small, pearl-like tubers have smooth, white skin and bright white flesh, making them as visually appealing as they are delicious. Known for their excellent productivity and natural disease resistance, Upstate Abundance is ideal for roasting, boiling, and serving as a tender, bite-sized delicacy. This unique variety thrives in diverse growing conditions and is perfect for gardeners and food enthusiasts seeking something truly special.

Key Characteristics

Early-Season Harvest
Upstate Abundance potatoes mature in just 75-85 days, making them one of the earliest varieties to enjoy fresh from the garden. Their quick growth is perfect for those eager to harvest flavorful potatoes early in the season.

Delicate Flavor and Creamy Texture
These gourmet potatoes boast a nutty, buttery flavor that pairs beautifully with their creamy texture. Their petite, uniform size makes them perfect for roasting whole, boiling, or as an elegant side dish.

Disease Resistance
Upstate Abundance has strong resistance to several common potato diseases, including scab and golden nematodes, making it a low-maintenance, healthy choice for organic and chemical-free gardens.

Bloom Time and Soil Preferences
The plants bloom in June with delicate white flowers. They grow best in loose, well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Consistent moisture is key, though the plants tolerate a range of conditions as long as they are not waterlogged.

Tips for Best Growing
Plant seed potatoes 4-6 inches deep in nutrient-rich, loose soil after the danger of frost has passed. Space tubers 12 inches apart in rows 2-3 feet apart. Hill soil around plants as they grow to encourage tuber development, and water consistently during the growing season. Harvest once the foliage yellows and dies back, then cure the tubers for 1-2 weeks in a cool, dark place for optimal storage.

Very Durable Ball
Pattern Name: Cage Ball, Size: Large - 4 Inch / 8.5 oz
This ball has held up to regular puppy chewing for 3 months now. At first I was worried my retriever would get her mouth stuck in it, but it hasn't been a problem since she has gotten bigger. Supervision required for smaller pups. One thing to note is that the ball was shipped with a strong rubber smell, but that has gone away with use and washing. Super easy to clean! It is a heavier ball making it bounce well and it doesn't damage the walls. Super durable. She's been chewing on it every day and there is no damage to it at all. The scratches, holes, or pieces missing. It's stayed intact for months!

Good ball, but not really for super chewers
Pattern Name: Ball, Size: Large - 3 Inch / 12 oz
This ball is tough...my (foster) dog is tougher. It is a heavy rubber ball, but my Staffordshire bull terrier is able to destroy these balls within about a couple of hours. We never let him chew on these unmonitored. If you have a moderate chewer, this is probably ok for your dog; for any super chewers, you might want to pass. We first bought one of these balls when we learned our foster dog (fresh out of the shelter) had heartworms. We knew we had to keep him occupied somehow, and it is by far his favorite toy (he loves the doughnut-shaped toy as well). We bought MANY of these during his heartworm treatment. Now that he is done with his treatment we won't buy any more of these. They are expensive for what they are. And just be aware that the lifetime warranty only applies to material or manufacturing flaws...not the actual toughness of the product.

Bully proof?!
Size: 5 in
We have the cutest little pit/lab mix who destroys stuffed toys in about two seconds flat. It’s always a HUNT to find toys he won’t instantly shred. This brand has some of the best! They were in FiveBelow for a while and it was the only brand that stood up to him initially. He finally got through the first only after MONTHS so we bought a few back ups and they’re still going strong months later! They’re also not super heavy so these end up being the toys we play fetch with most often! 100% will be buying more in this line in the future!

When this chew arrived, it immediately became a favorite. It seems sturdy and is soft enough to be dental friendly.
