About Echeveria 'Ball of Fat'

Echeveria 'Ball of Fat' is a hybrid succulent cross between Echeveria Minima and Echeveria Elegans Alba. Its thin leaves form a tight, compact rosette ball when it thrives, making it charming and attractive. However, if this succulent doesn't receive enough sun exposure, it is prone to stretch out and grow leggy, which causes the white and pink colors to fade and turn green. Inheriting the characteristics of Echeveria Minima, Echeveria Ball of Fat is known for forming clusters and is often used in DIY succulent bouquets.

How to Care for Echeveria 'Ball of Fat'

Sunlight: Echeveria Ball of Fat enjoys at least six hours of bright sunlight daily throughout the year. Growing them in outdoor areas where they can receive ample sunlight is highly recommended. However, in sweltering summers, it is advisable to provide shade or move them to an airy place to prevent sunburn or plant rot.

Water: Watering Echeveria Ball of Fat when the potting soil completely dries out or when the bottom leaves touch soft. Avoid leaving water in the crown of succulents, especially in sweltering summer. Reduce water amount in cold winter as it goes dormant and stops growing.

Soil & Planter: Add one part of green zeolite, two parts of perlite, five parts of maifanitum stone, and two parts of organic materials to make a perfect potting soil mix to grow Echeveria Ball of Fat. Use a wide planter pot to plant this succulent variety, as its clusters require more space.

Temperature: Echeveria Ball of Fat thrives in warm and dry environments with temperatures ranging from 50-77℉. Move the plant indoors before the temperature drops to 32℉ as this variety is not a cold hardy succulent.

Fertilizer: Replant the succulent with fresh organic soil every spring, which can provide the essential nutrients for them to thrive. Moreover, feeding them with slow-release fertilizer two or three times in spring can also meet the need.

Propagation: Cut off the cluster and do propagation. Before propagation, make sure to disinfect the sharp blade properly. In case the succulent grows too many clusters at the base, you can use a fishing line as another tool to help you complete the job.

My Female GSD loves
Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 1, Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 1
Shasta is my smallest. Six in December (2025) along with her brother. She’s 100 lbs and outside, completely ball driven see last picture. Don’t let the size (2.5”) of these Chuck-It balls deter you. If your larger Breed dog has any orthopedic issues, has already torn their ACL etc, one has arthritis but wants to play. This size is perfect! Shazzy was born with several ortho issues. I don’t throw balls distance but right to her. This size and lighter weight assure even when Shazzy is spazzy w excitement, she’ll catch the ball mid air. The green balls are softer, and glow in the dark. In summer we can play well past dusk and I can see them! Her personality shows in the pictures. Playing ball is part of her. These balls are just perfect for her situation. Somehow they disappear, she loves making baskets, puts them in my tractor bucket, or my gardening bucket..then get put in burn pile, trash etc. I keep replacing them because she’d look day and night if we actually ran out!! 🙏✝️👍🏼👍🏼

This is a cool toy. My dog took to it right away. It tosses great. I like that you can play a little tugging along with fetch. We mainly use it outdoors. It feels very strong and durable. For size reference my dog is a mini golden doodle and weighs about 30lbs.

Great toy!
Size: Medium, Style: Ultra Tug
We have a 1 yr old rescue (German shepherd mix) and she didnt really know how to play with humans, she was scared of everything. We got this toy to help us teach her how to play fetch and tug of war and it really helped her come out of her shell. She loves this toy! It is very durable and fun to throw. Just enough rope to tug with her and doesn't come apart like other rope material. We got medium size and prob buy another one.

Durable
Size: Small, Style: Ultra Duo Tug
Well, our dogs didn't end up playing tug with each other, but they love the toy anyway and it still looks pretty good after a month. That doesn't sound like much, but they both love to chew and destroy rubber and they're ridiculously good at it. They also really like chewing the strap between the two balls, which is still in surprisingly good condition. Most "indestructible" toys are toast within the hour. Well worth the money. Plus, the unpredictable bounce when thrown keeps the dogs busy.

Good quality ball for large dog, easy to clean
Size: Large, Style: Ultra Tug
It’s challenging to review this because I bought it for my son’s dog, and it doesn’t interest him at all, even though he likes and plays with regular balls. The ball appears to be good quality, which is typical for this brand. He likes to play tug of war, so I thought the combination with a ball would be a hit. The strap looks durable, so time will tell if he develops an interest in playing with this at some point. The ball is hard rubber and fairly heavy, so it should hold up to an aggressive chewer. It doesn’t squeak or make any other noise. It bounces unpredictably and erratically because of the attached strap. Both the strap and ball are easy to clean with soap and water.
