It is also all over the Canaries in public spaces and looks stunning.
Here in the UK the Royal Poinciana Flame Tree is best grown as a container specimen - brought under glass over winter. It is also a very popular Bonsai specimen, not just for its flowers but for its interesting bark.

Seed Germination
- Lightly scarify the surface of these large seeds with a nail file or similar
- Soak in tepid water was 24 hours
- Sow individually spaced about 3cm (1 inch) deep in pots/trays of good quality compost (ideally 50% compost and vermiculite)
- Keep in a warm place (20-25c) ideally using a heat mat so temperature is constant
- Ensure compost does not dry out
- Seeds usually germinate in 3-4 weeks
- Pot on once large enough to handle
