Dracaena Draco 'Dragon Blood Tree' - 5 Seeds

Dracaena draco, The Dragon Tree is a stunning specimen tree that is popular with landscapers because of its naturally strong architectural features.

Evergreen, drought tolerant and able to live for hundreds of years it is a popular choice of feature plant in homes and gardens across Australia. It is more cold tolerant than other Dracaena species so will happily grow in cooler as well as warmer climates and, due to its tolerance of lower light levels, it can also make a stunning house or office plant.

The Dragon Tree is a sub-tropical plant native to the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Madeira and Western Morocco. Sadly it has become a threatened species in the wild.

When grown in perfect conditions the Dragon Tree can grow to approx 10-12 metres in height with a spread of up to 4 metres.

They make an excellent alternative to Palm Trees.

 

Seed Starting Method Raise seedlings and plant out 
Sowing Depth 20mm into pre moistened soil
Growing Season Spring & Summer or in warm temps - consider using a heat mat
Germination Time After 6 weeks in temps consistently above 20c

Plant Height Will reach several meters 
Planting Position Partial or full sun, moist well manured soil
Days Until Maturity  Full maturity at 10-12 years
Growing tips Keep temperature consistently above 20c
Cover our plastic pots with cling wrap or similar
Keep soil moist but not wet
Once germinated remove the plastic and place the pots in a sunny position
As seedlings dont put them outside if temps are below 10c
Transplant after the last frost

Awesome Tough Chewer Focus Puzzle

Our 2 yr old busy Mini Goldendoodle (24lbs) looooves this! The material is super tough, yet malleable; he has chewed away and you can’t even tell. We got the 8 pack, worth it! I load them all up with mostly kibble and a treat or two. It took just a short time for him to figure out how to really get it apart. On 1 it came apart really easy for him. We are mostly on 3s, with 2s. When he gets down to only 2 pieces connected it’s usually a 3 and it takes a little longer to get apart due to less leverage. It is mostly easy to use but the higher the plug end is, the more effort it will also take for YOU to get it together. The numbers are a little hard to see, more so on the yellow over the blue. If you use kibble like me, don’t fill it too full as then it won’t connect fully and be prepared for kibble to fly everywhere when they finally get it off. There are holes in the plug part, if you put something in it like peanut butter, remember to poke the holes out! Eew! Other than that they are fairly easy wash out in the sink! Overall, this has become our go to, extended focus, quiet time, [essentially a] slow feeder!
