🌾 Whole Flax Seeds, a Quiet Powerhouse from Field to Pantry
Our premium whole flax seeds (Linum usitatissimum), often called linseed, arrive plump, clean, and sealed in a resealable pouch that keeps them fresh long after the first scoop. Tip a few into your palm and you will notice the gentle character flax is loved for: a soft floral note, a whisper of almond, and a grounding, earthy finish that folds beautifully into oatmeal, smoothies, yogurt, and baking.
This flax is grown across the great flax-growing regions of Canada and the United States, where the cool climate and long summer days coax the seed to its full, glossy character. We carry it whole on purpose: an intact seed keeps its delicate oils sealed inside, so it stays fresh in your pantry and gives you the brightest flavor when you grind it. Every lot we ship receives its own per-batch lab work, and the results live on our Flax Seeds guide and COA reference so you can verify the exact batch you receive.
Flax has been valued in kitchens and apothecaries since ancient Egyptian times. The seed is naturally rich in dietary fiber, plant-based omega-3 (ALA), and lignans, which is why it has earned a lasting place in the holistic pantry. You will find it alongside the rest of our digestive-supportive botanicals and our wider range of culinary herbs and spices, ready to become a small daily ritual.
🌱 From the Sacred Plant Co Farm. Sacred Plant Co is a soil-first farm. Our own farm in Colorado earned a groundbreaking Haney Soil Health Score of 25.4, a number that surpasses the soil biology measured in pristine forest land. That score is the heart of who we are. We believe healthier soil grows more complex, more potent plants, and that philosophy is the reason we hold every herb we carry to the same biological and per-lot testing standards.

Good to Know & Safety
Flax is fiber-rich, so we suggest adding it gradually and drinking plenty of water alongside it. Whole seeds keep best in storage, while grinding right before use opens the seed so the nutrients inside are easier for the body to reach. Take ground or whole flax separately from medications, as high-fiber foods can affect how some are absorbed.
If you are pregnant or nursing, taking blood-thinning medication, or managing a specific health condition, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before making flax a regular part of your routine.

🌿 Flax Seed FAQ
Should I grind flax seeds or use them whole?
Either works, and each has its moment. Whole seeds keep their oils sealed and stay fresh far longer in the pouch, so we ship them whole on purpose. When you are ready to eat them, grind a small amount fresh in a clean spice or coffee grinder right before use. Grinding opens the seed so your body can reach the nutrients inside, while the rest of your supply stays whole and fresh until the next time.
Where do your flax seeds come from?
Our premium whole flax is grown across the great flax-growing regions of Canada and the United States, where the cool climate and long days bring the seed to its full, plump character. Every lot we ship receives its own per-batch lab work, and the results live on our flax article so you can verify the exact batch you receive. And our policy is simple: if you aren't happy, send it back and receive a full refund. Anytime, for any reason.
How do I store flax seeds to keep them fresh?
Keep the seeds whole in their resealable pouch, pressed closed, in a cool, dark, dry cupboard away from heat and light. Whole flax holds its quality for many months stored this way. Once you grind a batch, treat it like fresh meal: store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator or freezer and use it within a few weeks for the brightest flavor and aroma.
Is it fine to add flax seeds to my daily routine?
Many people enjoy a spoonful of ground flax in oatmeal, smoothies, yogurt, or baking as part of an everyday rhythm. We suggest adding fiber-rich seeds gradually and drinking plenty of water alongside them. If you are pregnant or nursing, take medication, or are managing a specific health condition, we encourage you to check with a qualified healthcare practitioner first so it fits your needs.
