The Ghostly Elegance of Philodendron Florida Ghost – Now in a Perfect Medium Size
Philodendron Florida Ghost | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Not pet-safe
Summary: The Philodendron Florida Ghost Medium (25 cm, 12 cm pot) delivers striking white-to-green foliage in a compact form—ideal for German apartments and European homes with limited space.
✨ Why You'll Love the Philodendron Florida Ghost
- Leaves emerge pure white, shifting through minty hues to lush green—like living art in your home.
- Compact size fits perfectly on desks, shelves, or plant stands.
- Rare and highly sought-after—perfect for collectors and design-conscious plant parents.
- Easy-care tropical that adapts beautifully to European indoor climates.
🌞 Light & Placement
Place in bright, indirect light. A north- or east-facing window in your German home works beautifully. Strong direct sun can burn young white leaves, while too little light may fade variegation.
💧 Water & Humidity
Water when the top 2 cm of soil feel dry. Aim for 50–70% humidity, achievable with a pebble tray, grouped plants, or a small humidifier—especially in dry European winters.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Best in a chunky, airy aroid mix (bark, coco husk, perlite). Repot every 1–2 years into a slightly larger pot to encourage healthy root growth. A moss pole is optional at this size but will help once it starts climbing.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Not safe for pets. Keep away from cats, dogs, and other animals to avoid ingestion of calcium oxalates.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Grows steadily in the growing season. Propagate easily via stem cuttings in water, moss, or perlite. Compact size makes it easy to share cuttings with fellow plant lovers.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
In European winters, reduce watering and keep away from cold drafts or radiators. In summer, feed monthly with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer to support variegation and growth.
🐛 Common Issues
- Drooping leaves → usually underwatering or too much direct sun.
- Brown edges → low humidity, especially in heated German apartments.
- Pests like thrips or spider mites—wipe leaves regularly and monitor new growth.
🧬 Botanical Background
The Florida Ghost is a unique Philodendron hybrid (Araceae family), originally developed in Florida but adored worldwide for its ghostly leaf transitions. It adapts well to European homes, thriving in warm, stable indoor conditions.
