Oenothera lindheimeri, commonly known as Lindheimer's beeblossom or white gaura, is a striking perennial plant renowned for its grace and beauty. Native to North America, this species typically reaches a height of 2 to 3 feet and is characterized by its slender, arching stems covered in lance-shaped leaves. The plant produces numerous delicate, four-petaled white or pink-tinged flowers that resemble butterflies in flight, lending a sense of lightness and movement to the garden. These blossoms are especially attractive to pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, and they tend to open in the late afternoon or evening. Gaura lindheimeri thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sun, making it a popular choice for xeriscape gardens and wildflower plantings. Its extended blooming period, from late spring to fall, and low-maintenance requirements make it an appealing addition to a variety of garden settings, contributing to a natural and charming landscape.  Zones 6-9

Germination

To successfully germinate Oenothera lindheimeri or Lindheimer's bee blossom seeds, follow these steps. Start by sowing the seeds in late winter or early spring, or about 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected frost. Use a well-draining seed-starting mix and lightly press the seeds onto the surface, as they require light to germinate. Maintaining a consistent soil temperature of around 70-75°F (21-24°C) is essential, and you can use a seed tray or pots with a plastic cover to create a controlled environment. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during the germination process, which typically takes 10-15 days. Once the seedlings have grown a few true leaves, they can be transplanted into your garden or larger containers, where they will continue to thrive into mature Lindheimer's bee blossom plants, known for their elegant, swaying stems and delicate, butterfly-like flowers that add grace and charm to your garden landscape.

Came apart.
Color: Cherries
We were playing with it and the green part pulled off of the red part. I'm pretty sure that is not supposed to happen. I took the green part away from the dog because that part is too small for my pup to play with. But we continue to play with the red part. My dog likes the texture and the bounciness.

Caution - handle comes off!
Color: Cherries
I really liked this toy when I opened package--our dog liked as well! Until a short time ago when I saw her chewing on the green "stem"! The stem had come apart from the main cherries. This is a small enough part that I think she or any bigger dog could choke on. Our dog is a small lab. Would not recommend buying.

Must buy!
Color: Grape
My dogs love this and so do I. It really smells like “fun grape” like a fun smelling marker. It’s gentle for their teeth and durable! They are both interested in it and take turns using it, pretty awesome!
