The Liberte Medium is a porcelain pot for orchids from Chive Studio — a clean cylindrical form at 4.25 inches with a drainage hole at the base and a flush-fitting matching saucer glazed in the same finish. The cylinder is a neutral form that suits almost any plant at this scale: the drainage hole is center-base, sized to move water without losing soil, and the saucer catches everything that comes through.

The Liberte Medium is the most popular pot Chive makes. It has been for most of the years it has existed. The studio is not entirely sure how this happened, but the working theory involves correct proportions, a useful size, and a glaze called Skull that nobody asked for and everyone immediately wanted. The Skull color was not in the plan. We made it anyway.

The Andy Warhol Museum stocks the Liberte. The High Museum of Art in Atlanta carries it. These are institutions that take ceramics seriously. They chose the cylinder. We find this gratifying and entirely appropriate.
