Money Tree (Pachira aquatica), also known as Guiana Chestnut or Malabar Chestnut, is a popular houseplant believed to bring good fortune and prosperity. Native to Central and South America, it is characterized by its braided trunk and lush, green leaves. Money Trees are relatively easy to care for, making them an excellent choice for beginner and experienced plant enthusiasts alike.

Money Tree Care Instructions:

  1. Light: Place your Money Tree in a location with bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but growth may be slower. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

  2. Water: Water your Money Tree when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry to the touch. Ensure the soil is well-draining to prevent waterlogging and root rot. Be cautious not to overwater, as this can lead to root rot.

  3. Humidity: Money Trees prefer moderate humidity levels. To increase humidity, place a tray filled with water and pebbles underneath the pot, mist the leaves occasionally, or use a humidifier.

  4. Temperature: Maintain a temperature range of 65-80°F (18-27°C) for optimal growth. Money Trees can tolerate a range of temperatures but avoid exposing them to temperatures below 50°F (10°C) or sudden temperature changes.

  5. Fertilizer: Feed your Money Tree with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Use a half-strength solution to avoid over-fertilizing. Reduce feeding to once every 2-3 months during fall and winter.

  6. Pruning: Prune your Money Tree as needed to maintain its shape and size. Remove any yellow or brown leaves and trim the tips if they become damaged. You can also pinch back the growing tips to encourage bushier growth.

  7. Repotting: Repot your Money Tree every 2-3 years or when the roots outgrow the pot. Choose a well-draining potting mix and a pot that is 1-2 inches larger in diameter than the current one. Be gentle when handling the roots, and water the plant thoroughly after repotting.

Pet-friendly or toxic to pets?

According to the ASPCA, Money Tree (Pachira aquatica) is non-toxic to cats and dogs. This plant is considered pet-friendly, making it a suitable choice for households with pets that may be prone to chewing on plants. However, it's always best to discourage your pets from chewing on plants, as even non-toxic plants can cause mild digestive upset if ingested in large quantities. If you have concerns about your pet's health, contact your veterinarian.

My Female GSD loves
Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 1, Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 1
Shasta is my smallest. Six in December (2025) along with her brother. She’s 100 lbs and outside, completely ball driven see last picture. Don’t let the size (2.5”) of these Chuck-It balls deter you. If your larger Breed dog has any orthopedic issues, has already torn their ACL etc, one has arthritis but wants to play. This size is perfect! Shazzy was born with several ortho issues. I don’t throw balls distance but right to her. This size and lighter weight assure even when Shazzy is spazzy w excitement, she’ll catch the ball mid air. The green balls are softer, and glow in the dark. In summer we can play well past dusk and I can see them! Her personality shows in the pictures. Playing ball is part of her. These balls are just perfect for her situation. Somehow they disappear, she loves making baskets, puts them in my tractor bucket, or my gardening bucket..then get put in burn pile, trash etc. I keep replacing them because she’d look day and night if we actually ran out!! 🙏✝️👍🏼👍🏼

Size: Medium, Style: Ultra Tug, Size: Medium, Style: Ultra Tug
This is a cool toy. My dog took to it right away. It tosses great. I like that you can play a little tugging along with fetch. We mainly use it outdoors. It feels very strong and durable. For size reference my dog is a mini golden doodle and weighs about 30lbs.

Great toy!
Size: Medium, Style: Ultra Tug
We have a 1 yr old rescue (German shepherd mix) and she didnt really know how to play with humans, she was scared of everything. We got this toy to help us teach her how to play fetch and tug of war and it really helped her come out of her shell. She loves this toy! It is very durable and fun to throw. Just enough rope to tug with her and doesn't come apart like other rope material. We got medium size and prob buy another one.

Durable
Size: Small, Style: Ultra Duo Tug
Well, our dogs didn't end up playing tug with each other, but they love the toy anyway and it still looks pretty good after a month. That doesn't sound like much, but they both love to chew and destroy rubber and they're ridiculously good at it. They also really like chewing the strap between the two balls, which is still in surprisingly good condition. Most "indestructible" toys are toast within the hour. Well worth the money. Plus, the unpredictable bounce when thrown keeps the dogs busy.

Good quality ball for large dog, easy to clean
Size: Large, Style: Ultra Tug
It’s challenging to review this because I bought it for my son’s dog, and it doesn’t interest him at all, even though he likes and plays with regular balls. The ball appears to be good quality, which is typical for this brand. He likes to play tug of war, so I thought the combination with a ball would be a hit. The strap looks durable, so time will tell if he develops an interest in playing with this at some point. The ball is hard rubber and fairly heavy, so it should hold up to an aggressive chewer. It doesn’t squeak or make any other noise. It bounces unpredictably and erratically because of the attached strap. Both the strap and ball are easy to clean with soap and water.
