We adore the pure class of the stunning Areca palm! You probably recognise this Dypsis palm even if you don’t know the name!  It’s well-loved, graceful and elegant - think 1920s hotel, mirrors and dinner jackets!  It will give your home that sophisticated feel, like walking into a movie set! Palm house plants are always popular, and the Areca Palm is no exception.

Dypsis is a genus of palm trees that includes many different species, each with its own unique characteristics. The most common species of Dypsis palm is Dypsis lutescens, also known as golden cane palm, areca palm, yellow palm, butterfly palm, or bamboo palm.

The Areca Palm is a popular ornamental plant that is native to Madagascar and naturalized in other tropical regions around the world. It has slender, bamboo-like stems that are topped with feathery fronds of pinnate leaves that can grow up to 8 feet long. The leaves are bright green in colour and have a delicate, airy appearance that gives the tree a graceful and elegant appearance.

The Areca Palm is a relatively fast-growing and low-maintenance plant that is well-suited to indoor or outdoor cultivation in warm, humid climates. It prefers bright, indirect sunlight and moist, well-drained soil.

As an indoor plant, the Areca Palm is valued for its ability to purify the air and add a touch of tropical beauty to any room. It is often used in office buildings, shopping centres, and other public spaces, as well as in homes. It is also commonly planted in gardens or used as a screening plant in tropical climates.

It’s also suitable for cats and dogs as it’s non-toxic, which is unusual in a houseplant.

Attractive, plentiful fronds sprout from bamboo stems to make the Areca palm a wonderful centrepiece for a room, to give it that high society feels.

Areca palm hails from tropical and subtropical regions but can also be found as close to home as the South of France!

We absolutely love the pure showbiz look of this palm; it brings immediate impact to a room and gives it that glitz and glamour - the perfect accessory to your home!

Where should I put this plant?

Areca palm likes lots of light but not direct sun; it loves humidity, although it will tolerate cooler temperatures than some houseplants.

How much water does it need?

This plant should be kept a little moist; water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry, less in winter.

Is this plant suitable if I have pets?

Areca palm is usually suitable if you have pets, but we can’t guarantee that it will be fine for every pet.

Officially my favorite and exclusive deodorant.
Style: Vintage Suede, Size: 2.65 Ounce (Pack of 1)
This is the most amazing smelling deodorant I've ever used, and unique, too. Very smooth just like their shaving cream, and I haven't had any irritation. I've been complimented by a few people now on how good I smell.

Smells great. Doesn't mess with my pits.
Style: Casked Vanilla, Size: 2.65 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I ordered the casked vanilla scent. My lady loves it on me. The added benefit I wasn't expecting was no more sour pit smell by the end of the day that has plagued me using other brands. I'll keep ordering this stuff for now.

Effective
Style: Italian Bergamot, Size: 2.65 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Smells is nice but not amazing, the body wash in the Bergamot smells much better. But this stuff lasts. No chalky / sticky feeling but still keeps me BO free for two days straight.

Can't stop laughing
Format: Hardcover
These are amazing tales from Turkey. Beautiful narration of several very old tales. They bring the Hoja back to life. My kids and I thoroughly enjoy the stories and can't stop laughing as we read the tales again and again. The illustrations are superb.

Muslim Folktales of a Wise but Silly Teacher
Format: Hardcover
Reason for Reading: I love legends, folklore and the like. This was an area completely unknown to me so I was intrigued to read these tales. These stories come from Turkey and are Muslim tales of a wise man, a trickster and a fool all wrapped up in the same person. Hoji is a Muslim teacher, some respect him others don't. Historically, Nasrudin Hoja (who goes by a host of different spellings) is considered an actual man who may have lived in the 1200s, his funny tales with messages have been handed down and built upon all over the middle east and across Asia, even reaching as far as China. But this book sticks with the tales told in Turkey, centered on the then village of Aksehir. There are ten folktales presented here, each is short (only a few pages long) and Hoji while being a wise man is really very silly indeed. Children should find these stories humorous and laugh at the solutions Hoji comes up with to his, or others, troubles. He is always fair and stuck-up people will get pulled back down to reality. Hoji is a winner for the common folk and isn't afraid to take on a man of much greater status than himself. Hoji is also a trickster and likes to cause a little trouble by bringing someone back down to earth and showing him he is not above other people just because he has money or position. Then there is Hoji the fool, who will listens to what people tell him and in the end it is he who has been made a fool of, but still a lesson is being taught. Most of the stories have a lesson attached to them though they are not always blatantly obvious and do require you to think what the message of the story is. A couple, I think were just silly stories, as I could not find a message hidden in them at all. The book is told in simple language and as I said the stories are short so I'm recommending this for lower elementary children or as a read-aloud to younger children of any age. The illustrations are beautiful. Capturing the art of Turkish design in bold, bright cartoon-ish style pictures which seem to be done in a mixed-media format and, if I'm not mistaken, that includes a tad of collage as well. This is a fun introduction to a new cultural folktale that kids are sure to have fun with.
