• A good candidate for oceanfront landscapes and larger homesites inland, provided there are few gusts of hot wind to tatter its fronds. The best and most adaptable candidate for tropical, semitropical and postmodern landscapes.


• Although it casts little shade, this palm makes a fine street tree. Grow as a single specimen or in clusters of three to five.


• Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Watering can be reduced after establishment. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring.
