Anthurium crystallinum x luxurians

Anthurium crystallinum x luxurians is a cultivated Anthurium hybrid with broad heart-shaped foliage, pale venation and a textured leaf surface. It combines the crystal-veined look of Anthurium crystallinum with the heavier, puckered blade character of Anthurium luxurians.

Anthurium crystallinum is native from Panama to Colombia, while Anthurium luxurians is native to Colombia and known in cultivation for thick, bullate leaves. Root quality has a direct effect on leaf size and surface texture.

Anthurium crystallinum x luxurians key traits

  • Leaf shape: Broad cordate leaves with pale venation.
  • Surface: Green blade surface that can become lightly to strongly textured.
  • Growth habit: Upright crown habit with leaves held on visible petioles.
  • Maturity: Vein contrast, blade breadth and texture become clearer as the plant matures.

Anthurium crystallinum x luxurians indoor care

  • Light: Provide bright filtered light and protect soft or pale foliage from harsh midday sun.
  • Watering: Water when the upper part of the substrate has started to dry, then drain thoroughly.
  • Substrate: Use a loose Anthurium mix with bark, coco chips, pumice or perlite so roots receive moisture and oxygen.
  • Temperature: Keep warm, ideally around 18–28 °C, and protect from cold wet substrate.
  • Humidity: Moderate to high humidity helps new leaves expand cleanly; pair humidity with gentle airflow.
  • Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth with a diluted complete fertiliser.
  • Repotting: Repot when roots fill the pot or the mix begins to collapse.

Anthurium crystallinum x luxurians issues to check

  • Yellowing lower leaves: Check for compacted substrate, cool roots or a pot staying wet for too long.
  • Brown edges: Review humidity, watering gaps and fertiliser strength.
  • Distorted new growth: Inspect young leaves for thrips or mites and stabilise humidity.
  • Soft stems or crown: Check root health and improve drainage immediately.

Anthurium crystallinum x luxurians handling and safety

Anthurium crystallinum x luxurians should be kept away from pets and children that may chew plant material. Like other Anthuriums, it contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth, throat, skin and eyes.

One size smaller is perfect!
Color: Navy, Size: 10 Years
This suit fit perfect but I did order one size smaller than my grandson normally wears. It is very well made and he can't wait to wear it in the wedding.

A good First Communion suit
Size: 6, Color: White, Size: 6, Color: White
This suit looks and feels really nice even though it’s not 100% linen. My son is an average size 7 year old, but I got a size 6 so that the fit would be nice and snug and not loose and baggy. It was the right choice. Comes with a bow tie which is nice, a tie (which is very cheap and poorly made) and a pocket square.
