Summary: With its giant, glossy dark green leaves and striking white flowers, the Spathiphyllum 'Sensation' XL adds lush tropical elegance and natural air purification to any indoor space.
✨ Why You'll Love the Spathiphyllum 'Sensation'
- Largest Peace Lily variety with dramatic oversized foliage
- Produces elegant white spathe flowers throughout the year
- Excellent air-purifying plant, improving indoor air quality
- Ideal as a floor plant for living rooms, offices, and bedrooms
- Delivered securely in XL size (approx. 100–120 cm depending on current stock)
🌞 Light & Placement
Thrives in medium to bright, indirect light. Tolerates lower light conditions better than most tropicals, making it perfect for German apartments and European homes with north-facing windows.
💧 Water & Humidity
Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Drooping leaves are a clear sign it needs water, bouncing back quickly after watering. Prefers high humidity but adapts well to typical indoor levels.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a rich, well-draining potting mix with added perlite for aeration. Repot every 1–2 years to maintain healthy root growth and refresh nutrients.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Toxic to pets if ingested due to calcium oxalate crystals. Keep away from cats and dogs that may chew on leaves.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Fast-growing into a broad, bushy floor plant. Propagate via division – separate rooted clumps when repotting in spring.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
Wipe large leaves regularly to remove dust and support photosynthesis. Fertilise monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser for lush foliage and blooms.
🐛 Common Issues
Watch for yellowing leaves from overwatering, and browning leaf tips from low humidity or fluoride in tap water. Use filtered or rainwater if possible.
🧬 Botanical Background
Spathiphyllum 'Sensation' is the largest cultivar of the Peace Lily group, native to the tropical Americas and Southeast Asia. Loved for its architectural foliage and ease of care, it brings calm, purifying beauty to any indoor environment.
