Because they have more chlorophyll than their albo and Thai Constellation relatives, mint monsteras will grow faster and be more tolerant of bright light and less susceptible to burning. Monstera spp., like other plants in the Araceae family, contain insoluble calcium oxalates, which can cause oral and GI irritation, as well as other symptoms. Because of this, they are not considered pet safe when it comes to our furry friends. If you were thinking of including it in a tropical enclosure, don't let that stop you! Even if your reptile takes a chomp out of the vine, they have different tolerances than our furry friends. Treat this like a pothos, where it can be allowed to climb or trail within the enclosure.
