How to Draw Monsters & Beasts is a step-by-step drawing guide to mastering some of the most powerful, imaginative, and iconic creatures from myth, folklore, and modern fantasy. Through 40 dynamic projects, this book explores an extraordinary bestiary—ranging from ancient legends like the chimera, griffin, and basilisk to contemporary horrors such as mutant rats, swamp-dwelling creatures, and alien beings.
Using the Vault Editions 12-step drawing process, each design is broken down into clear, achievable stages that make complex forms approachable and repeatable. You’ll develop essential skills in anatomy, gesture, expression, and texture—building confidence as you bring these legendary beings to life. Whether you’re a beginner learning to structure complex designs or a seasoned artist seeking fresh inspiration, this book offers both technical depth and creative freedom.
