Jungle Beauty Daylily
‘Jungle Beauty’ is one of those daylily varieties that pictures just don’t do justice. One of our favorite dark-colored daylilies, we have several clumps planted prominently along a path in our display garden, and it is always among the most admired.
Large striking blooms are around 5 1/2″ wide and grow on scapes close to 30″ tall in our East Tennessee garden.
A midseason bloomer, we first begin to see the gorgeous blooms of Jungle Beauty around the middle of June. If you live to our south, you’ll see them a couple weeks before we do. If you live to our north, you’ll see them a few weeks after us.
Jungle Beauty is a dormant daylily. This means it is best grown in areas that receive a sustained winter cold period, like zones 3-8.
The deep black blooms of Jungle Beauty are a great complement to pretty much any other color. We have it planted by a bright golden-orange Jersey Spider and it looks fantastic.
