Please find for sale 30+ seeds for  Aconitum Vulparia better known as Wolfsbane and more generally as Monkshood. This is the white flowering version - I also sell its closely related family member, the blue-flowering Aconitum Carmichaelii.

Wolfsbane is fairly common in the UK - mainly in damp woodlands, meadows and ditches.  Related to Delphiniums, it is a beautiful, stately perennial with tall spikes of white flowers from mid to late summer. Ideal for the middle or back of a herbaceous border. Its flowers are very attractive to a range of pollinators, especially bumblebees.

All parts of the plant, especially the roots, are poisonous. In centuries gone by the plant was use to produce poison-tipped arrows to kills wolves, hence the name. It has long had a myriad of magical & herbal uses, not least the warding off of vampires! Gloves should always be worn when handling the plants.

PLEASE NOTE: All orders received before 8pm (Mon-Fri) will be dispatched same day

Germination Guide

Can either be sown directly outside where they are to grow or sown indoors before planting out once risk of last front has passed.

Either way, Wolfsbane seeds require some cold stratification before sowing - sounds complicated but its not! All this does is to try and recreate what they would have in nature - a cold wet winter then the signal to germinate as the temperature rises in spring

1) Mix the seeds with some damp compost ina zip lock bag

2) Place in the fridge for 2 weeks

3) Sow the seeds immediately after the 2 weeks

Indoor Sowing (after stratification):

  • Sprinkle seeds onto a well draining compost in seed tray
  • Compost should ideally be a 50/50 mix of regular compost and horticultural sand
  • Cover seeds with a fine layer or sieved compost
  • Keep moist but not wet  - best to water from the bottom by having seeds tray inside a waterproof container.
  • Keep at 15-20 degrees during day and 10-15 degrees at night
  • Germination can be naturally slow and/or erratic,  3 to 8 weeks
  • Thin seedlings and pot on as required
  • Plant out once risk of last frost has passed

Unbelievable toy for aggressive chewers
Color: Green Cactus
Great toy for aggressive chewers! I'm not one to hand out 5 star reviews but this one I 100% believe in. I bought the first one in 2023 and just replaced it because it broke. Now this is not a played with every once in a while, this was played with daily as it is his favorite toy. Very few toys last long but this one has went beyond my expectations. Could not be happier.

Not Recommended!
Color: Green Cactus
Be aware that with major chewers it is not durable. My dog tour right through it and was eating pieces off of it. Thankfully we got the pieces back out of his mouth but definitely not for tough chewers. Also only lasted 2 days in decent condition and was only used on the occasion throughout the day.

Not strong lasting
Color: Green Cactus
Didn’t even last 3 hours in my house. Too rubbery and our frenchie mix was able to bite pieces off and was trying to eat them. Don’t recommend as a super chewer or consider it durable

Very durable!
Color: Pink Cactus
One of the few actually tough chew toys for dogs who tear apart toys in seconds! My dog loves this thing and has yet to break into the rubber!

Dogs love them.
Size: Large, Color: 6 Packs
My dog loves playing with these toys. I also bought some for my daughter‘s dogs. They really love them. I would say the only downfall is that they shred easily. You’ll find little strips of yarn laying around. But that doesn’t bother me because they get a lot of enjoyment from them. I have bought them three different times.
