Planting Instructions:
• Days to Maturity: Approximately 100-110 days
• Planting Depth: 1 inch
• Plant Spacing: 3-4 feet apart in rows, with rows spaced 6-8 feet apart for optimal growth
• Days to Germination: 7-10 days with consistent warmth
• Sun Requirement: Full sun – at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily
• Soil Requirements: Well-draining, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0-6.8
Starting Seeds:
• Indoor Start: Begin seeds indoors 3-4 weeks before the last expected frost. Use peat pots or seed trays with a high-quality seed-starting mix. Keep the soil temperature between 70-85°F for best results. Transplant seedlings to the garden after the danger of frost has passed and the soil is consistently warm.
• Direct Sowing: For direct outdoor planting, wait until soil temperatures reach at least 70°F. Sow seeds directly into the garden after the last frost, ensuring warm, sunny conditions.
Growing Tips:
Provide plenty of room for vines to sprawl, or train them on a trellis to save space. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, and apply mulch to retain moisture and reduce weed competition. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer every 3-4 weeks during the growing season to encourage healthy vines and fruit development. Monitor for pests like squash bugs and cucumber beetles and treat promptly to protect your plants.
Order your Jack O’ Lantern Pumpkin Seeds today and experience the joy of growing heirloom pumpkins perfect for all your fall festivities!
