🌿 Multi Stem Ficus Altissima — Council Tree / Yellow Gem Fig

Ficus altissima, often referred to as the Council Tree, is a bold and fast-growing tropical fig, prized for its striking lime-green and yellow variegated foliage, upright growth, and easy-going nature. Native to Southeast Asia, this species resembles the well-known Ficus elastica but offers a brighter, more vibrant colour palette. The cultivar commonly sold as Ficus altissima ‘Yellow Gem’ features ovate, glossy leaves with chartreuse centres and darker green margins, giving it a painted, luminous appearance. It makes an excellent choice for modern interiors needing a splash of colour and vertical greenery. Less fussy than Ficus lyrata and easier to grow than many variegated plants, Ficus altissima is ideal for both novice and experienced plant owners who want a high-impact, low-maintenance indoor tree.

☀️ Light Requirements

  • Indoors: Thrives in bright, indirect light. The more light it receives, the brighter the variegation.

  • Direct sun: Tolerates gentle morning sun but avoid harsh midday exposure.

  • Low light: Will survive, but variegation may fade and growth may become leggy.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

  • Ideal temperature: 18–26°C (65–79°F)

  • Minimum temperature: Keep above 13°C (55°F); sensitive to cold air and sudden drafts.

  • Humidity: Tolerant of average humidity but appreciates occasional misting or pebble trays in dry environments.

💧 Watering Needs

  • Watering frequency: Allow the top 5–7 cm of soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess to drain.

  • Winter: Water less frequently as the plant enters a slower growth period.

  • Tip: Avoid overwatering — root rot is the most common issue.

🪴 Soil & Repotting

  • Soil type: Well-draining houseplant compost with added perlite or bark to aid aeration.

  • pH: Slightly acidic to neutral (6.0–7.0)

  • Repotting: Every 1–2 years or when rootbound. Choose a sturdy pot for stability as the plant grows tall.

🌱 Feeding

  • Growing season (spring–summer): Feed monthly with a balanced houseplant fertiliser.

  • Autumn–winter: Reduce feeding or pause during dormancy.

✂️ Pruning & Maintenance

  • Pruning: Responds well to pruning to shape or limit height. Prune in spring or early summer.

  • Leaf care: Wipe with a damp cloth to remove dust and maintain its bright appearance.

  • Growth habit: Upright and tree-like. Can be grown as a single-stem specimen or a bushier form with pruning.

🌾 Propagation

  • Stem cuttings: Propagate using semi-hardwood cuttings rooted in water or moist compost.

  • Air layering: Suitable for mature plants if propagation is needed without major pruning.

🐛 Pests & Problems

  • Common pests: Mealybugs, spider mites, scale, and aphids.

  • Symptoms: Yellowing leaves, sticky residue, or visible pests.

  • Treatment: Wipe affected areas and treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap.

  • Common issues:

    • Leaf drop: Often caused by environmental stress, such as sudden light or watering changes.

    • Fading variegation: Typically due to insufficient light.

🧤 Toxicity & Safety

  • Toxicity: Toxic if ingested by pets or humans. The milky sap may irritate skin or mucous membranes.

  • Precaution: Keep out of reach of children and animals. Wear gloves when pruning.

🏡 Indoor Care Highlights

  • A bright, uplifting alternative to darker-foliaged figs like Ficus elastica.

  • Perfect for homes and offices needing a low-maintenance, colour-rich foliage plant.

  • Pairs beautifully with neutral interiors, ceramic planters, and modern décor styles.

  • Can be trained as a tall indoor tree or kept compact with occasional pruning.

  • One of the easiest variegated indoor plants for consistent growth and bold visual impact.

It's quite obvious there's a problem internationally with electronic voting systems.
Format: Paperback
Anyone giving this less than 4 stars is trolling, there are a few typo's in the book but the information is important because it outlines the fraud and election stealing that has occurred in over 72 Countries according the whistle blower evidence outlined in the book from 12 Venezuelan whistle blowers involved in the creation of the source code used in our voting systems in All swing states and even non swing states like VA and NJ These 12 were taken into protective custody that worked directly in the creation of this source code that triggers during flash card transfers from Machine to location for uploading to the SOS and places like Edison. This is also used in conjunction with ES&S and after it's done the flash cards are destroyed eliminating any trace of fraud or audit ability to the process. Everyone needs to read this, and demand we remove any electronic voting device or machine from all precincts in order to have fair elections paper ballot and voter ID are a must.

All Americans need to read this!
Format: Paperback
Every American should read this timely book before the mid term elections! This is part of the evidence Tulsi Gabbard, in her role as Director of National Intelligence (DNI), referred to when she said during a Cabinet meeting with President Donald Trump in April 2025 that "we have evidence of how these electronic voting systems have been vulnerable to hackers for a very long time, and vulnerable to exploitation to manipulate the results of the votes being cast." She made the remarks while advocating for a nationwide transition to paper ballots to restore public confidence in election integrity.

Great read, interesting, engaging, outstanding!
Format: Hardcover
Holland and Murray nailed it ! Outstanding work. I follow them on you tube and they bring you back in time with enthusiasm and knowledge. They genuinely love the subject matter and present it in a way that is not boring or too technical. In this book they call it as they see it and make you want to read more!

Now what?
Format: Hardcover
I am a student (not scholar) of WW II history mostly because of the many men and women in my family who served in this war. Holland and Murray bring a new experience to WW II reporting. We know that surrenders happened, and when and where. But this book gives the reader the "then what happened" ? and named individuals and told of their experiences while they struggled to figure out "what next?". They are lucky to be alive but confused as if they were experiencing an altogether new "battle" asking What shall we do? where shall we go, where will we be safe, how do we live now? This is a fascinating view of the joy and the terror and the miracle of having survived.

Interesting Accounts Of The Final Days Of The War
Format: Kindle
Enjoyed reading the detailed accounts of all the participants bringing the end of conflicts. Unconditional surrender was the guiding principle of the Allied forces.
