They have been used in folk medicine and consumed as a herbal tea for many years.
Benefits of Rosehips
Rosehips are very high in Vitamin C, in fact, 3x rosehips contain more Vitamin C than a single orange. They are also high in antioxidants, carotenoids and flavonoids, which can help to protect cells from oxidative stress and reduce inflammation within the body. The high content of Vitamin C helps to maintain the normal function of the immune system by stimulating the production of certain immune cells, called T-cells, and contributing to normal collagen production. This helps to maintain the epithelial layer of skin, and allow it to act as a barrier against unwanted microorganisms. Vitamin C also contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, which can help to reduce weakness and fatigue.
Our Rosehip Tablets
Our Rosehip Extract contains 17% Vitamin C. 3 tablets per day will provide over 200mg Vitamin C, which some studies suggest can provide more immune support during cold & flu season. Our Rosehip tablets are offered in a torpedo style. Please be aware that this is a fairly large tablet at 18mm in diameter and we, therefore, advise against purchasing this tablet if you have trouble swallowing.
