the sun panel | a full spectrum grow light for seedlings and indoor plants

the sun panel is a full spectrum led grow light for the plants that aren't getting enough sun. Raise seedlings, keep herbs and leafy greens happy, and give your indoor plants the light they're missing, even in a room that barely sees daylight.

Each diode sits behind its own lens, which doubles the usable light and focuses it down onto your plants instead of scattering it around the room. Adjust the brightness and the timer to match whatever you're growing, from the first seedling to a full, leafy shelf.

the kind of light plants thrive in

Plants grow best in light that behaves like the sun, and that's what the sun panel gives them. It covers the wavelengths they use to photosynthesise, so leaves come in greener, growth is stronger, and seedlings stop sitting around waiting for better weather. And because it's a warm, natural white rather than the harsh purple glow of older grow lights, it suits a room you actually live in.

raise sturdy seedlings, keep houseplants happy

Seedlings stretch and turn leggy when they're reaching for light. the sun panel gives them steady, even light from day one, so you get strong stems and roots instead. For established houseplants, it's an easy boost that keeps foliage full and healthy through the darker months.

exactly the light they need, without the guesswork

Every plant wants a different amount of light, and what it wants changes as it grows. the sun panel lets you give each one exactly the right exposure: turn the brightness up or down to suit the plant and its stage, then set the timer and leave it. Your plants get steady, consistent light every day, even when you're away, so they grow healthy without you having to think about it.

one system, one plug

the sun panel runs on the same 24V system as the rest of the sun series, so panels, basins and accessories all work together. One plug powers a single panel, or a full set of three. And if a part ever fails, you replace that part, not the whole light.

lighting specs

Good to know: the panels are white. Our earlier versions were black, so if you've seen those before, don't let it throw you.

setup

the sun panel mounts with a metal rail, so you can fit it to a shelf you already own.

setting up with the stick-on metal rail

  1. Prepare the surface you're attaching the panel to. Wipe it clean to remove any debris that could stop the adhesive sticking, then let it dry.
  2. Peel the adhesive backing off the tape on the metal rail.
  3. Position the rail with the tape against the surface, then press it on firmly.
  4. Hold it in place for 30 seconds to get the best adhesion.
  5. Use the mounting points on the panel to slide it into the groove of the rail.
  6. Connect the electronics as described in the manual, and you're up and running.

setting up with the screw-in clips

  1. Mark where you'd like your first clip, then screw it into your shelf.
  2. To place the second clip accurately, slot the panel into the first clip using its mounting point. Move the panel to show where the second clip should sit (it lines up with the second mounting point), mark the spot with a pencil, then move the panel aside and screw in the second clip.
  3. Connect the electronics as described in the manual, and you're up and running.

Easy to use/see
My eyesight is bad enough I cant use my cellphone at all without glasses. The clean display face and awesome backlight on this mean I can see the time any time of day or night without my glasses or a light. Super simple to use: Pull out the plastic protector on the crown Pull the crown out 1 click to set/back in when done Push on the crown for a REALLY good back light

Almost the perfect watch
Color: Black/Blue
I have owned three earlier models of these things going back to the days when I actually ran road races. They are brilliant pieces of work. My only complaint of them was that the start/stop/split button(s)--there were two on the older models--were too small. Well, apparently Timex listens and the two small buttons are now combined into one larger one. Probably this was done years ago but I'm only now getting back into road work, so now I get to discover it. The perfect watch? Almost. I especially like this model as my eyes are not what they used to be and the oversized face makes it easier to read. The downside to this is that it also makes the crystal easier to scratch. That's always been an issue, but I can live with it. No, the real problem with this product is, was, and apparently ever shall be, the band. Now, it could be worse, it could be a resin band (like the old ones) that will crack and break within a couple of years, but no, this is a nylon and velcro wrap style which should be just dandy, but for three glitches: 1. it's too short 2. it's too narrow (gee whiz, Timex designers, it's an oversized watch, why not a matching oversized band?) and 3. it's still resin where it attaches to the actual watch. Now, I imagine it's probably less prone to breakage in how it's implemented, but if you should choose to replace it, I can see no obvious way of removing it short of cutting it off. Really? But these are minor complaints. I doubt it would be comfortable on anyone whose wrists are much bigger than my own, but replacement bands are everywhere, and this watch will keep time with style and it's brilliant at splits. Heck, it even functions admirably as a backup for my expensive stopwatches at our regular short track stock car events. For my money (and did I mention the price is wonderful?) the Ironman is still the best at what it does, and for what it can do.

Good hard use watch.
Color: Black/Silver-Tone
Review Calibration: 3 stars means it works as advertised, nothing special during use, and no amazing features. Higher stars mean better-than-expected performance and features. This is 5 stars because it is my favorite work/hard-use watch. I have been wearing one for years, and like all Timex watches, it can take a beating. I have to replace it when the band's ears get so damaged that they won't hold the band on. This has more to do with the plastic's lifespan than with a design issue. I am hard on watches. This watch normally lasts ne 7-10 years between replacements.

Typical Ironman quality
Color: Black/Silver-Tone
This is my fourth Timex Ironman watch. I own many watches, and prefer the Ironman for casual wear and sporting activities as well as swimming and snorkeling. I decided to replace an earlier model with this one rather than pay to change the battery. The Ironman has changed very little over the years since its introduction in the '80s, with the exception of cosmetic improvememnts and a larger display. I selected the "oversize" model as I was looking for a little more heft to this model. This watch fits the bill, not as chunky as my G-Shock. A pleasant surprise was the weight of the watch. This model is lightweight, another advantage over the G. It's larger than the typical Ironman model, but about the same weight. The band lacks the stiffness of some other Timex and Casio models, and is quite comfortable. Typical Ironman functions are unchanged, and the ability to "hide" various functions makes operation of the watch more efficient. There are three time zones, useful when traveling, as well as the usual chronograph/timer and alarm functions. I haven't worn the watch in the pool or ocean yet, but if experience is any guide, I expect no problems. I've never had an Ironman leak, whether during water sports or snorkeling. These are great watches for the money. I prefer 200 meter water resistance for this type of watch, but Timex has yet to build an Ironman 200m that doesn't overwhelm my wrist in weight and size. I'm not a big guy, and they are simply too large for my wrist. Looking forward to years of service with this watch. Definitely a good timepiece for the price.
