Dionaea ‘Akai Ryu’ – Red Dragon Venus Flytrap
Striking and dramatic, ‘Akai Ryu’ (Japanese for “Red Dragon”) is a must-have cultivar of Dionaea muscipula known for its deep red coloration. Under full sun, both the traps and leaves can develop intense shades of burgundy and maroon—making it one of the most colorful Venus flytraps available.
This variety has a robust growth habit and performs well in full sun, producing traps up to 1 to 1.5 inches long on plants that can spread 4 to 6 inches wide.
