Amydrium medium

Amydrium medium starts with simpler, spreading juvenile leaves and can mature into a climbing aroid with reticulate venation, perforations and pinnate division. A textured support gives the stem a route upward while the adult foliage develops gradually with age and growing conditions.

The species is a wet-forest liana from southern Indo-China to Malesia. Indoors, its climbing habit shapes the setup: the stem needs a surface for attachment, and the roots need a chunky, airy mix that stays lightly moist without remaining dense and wet.

Juvenile leaves and mature division

  • Climbing habit: The species grows as a liana in wet tropical forest.
  • Juvenile leaves: Young leaves are held spreading from the stem before mature foliage develops.
  • Reticulate venation: Mature foliage can show a network-like vein pattern.
  • Perforated mature leaves: Older growth can develop openings in the leaf blade.
  • Pinnate division: Adult leaves can become more divided as the plant matures.
  • Climbing setup: A textured surface helps the stem attach and climb steadily.

Liana growth in a pot

Amydrium medium is native from southern Indo-China to Malesia, where it grows in humid to wet evergreen forest, including disturbed forest. Its natural liana growth makes a vertical or textured surface important indoors.

In a pot, a young plant may stay simple-leaved for some time. Bright filtered light, stable warmth, humidity and a climbing surface keep internodes shorter and help attached roots develop before the more complex mature leaves appear. A dense, wet mix can slow roots and lead to stress before the plant reaches that stage.

Climbing care for Amydrium medium

  • Light: Use bright filtered light. Low light can lengthen internodes and keep leaves smaller.
  • Water: Keep the mix lightly moist during active growth, then water again once the upper layer has begun to dry.
  • Substrate: A chunky aroid mix gives climbing roots both moisture and air.
  • Support: Provide a moss pole, plank or textured climbing surface so the stem can attach and grow vertically.
  • Humidity: Elevated humidity reduces dry edges and helps new leaves open without tearing.
  • Temperature: Keep it warm and stable. Cold, wet roots can slow growth and increase rot risk.

Juvenile growth, roots and leaf expansion

  • Small simple leaves: Normal on young plants, but persistent tiny growth can also point to low light, weak roots or lack of climbing support.
  • No perforations yet: Mature leaf division develops gradually and should not be expected on every young plant.
  • Wet-root stress: Dense substrate can hold too much water around a climbing aroid’s roots.
  • Dry or stuck new leaves: Low humidity can mark new foliage as it expands.

Safety around Amydrium medium

Amydrium medium belongs to Araceae and is not pet-safe. Keep it away from pets and children, and avoid contact with sap from cut or damaged stems.

Published botanical name

Nicolson published Amydrium medium in Blumea in 1968. It is a wet-forest Amydrium with climbing stems and a clear juvenile-to-mature leaf change.

Fluffy and Nice Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
… this would have made 5 stars but for 2 reasons. A.) there were quite a few typos; misspelled words, missing quotations, “the his” mistakes, and various signs that maybe a proofread would do good. B.) the writing was quite textbook. Late blooming omega is struggling with her new self, finds a absurdly wealthy pack of alphas, every thing is almost insta-love but she resists, then decides to love herself and let everyone be happy. Rian was my favourite (obviously the author’s favourite too because he got the most page time) but I wish we could see more of his CEO side? He went to work maybe ONCE the entire time. Gray was supposed to be the “growly one” but he turned out to be puppy dog. Lucas was a genius brainiac doctor - but also super alpha with an aggressive hindbrain with a breeding k*nk?? And then there was no actual “breeding”?? Spice 3/5 - normally omegaverse books are super high on messy smut but this was tamer. Romance 3/5 - insta-love that was then resisted because of personal hangup’s Plot 2/5 - weird paced head hopping, showing the same scene from different POV’s that made me feel like it was 2 steps backward, 1 step forward. Humour 4/5 - there were a dozen lines that genuinely made me chuckle out loud Would have been five stars but the lack of proofreading and the predictable plot made me unable to get up to ADORED IT level - four stars is still and official ENJOYED IT, y’all. This isn’t a bad rating. The “Club Heat” has intriguing possibilities so I’m going to give the second one a shot.

A good read
Format: Kindle
A good read, just fluffy cuteness, no antagonism. I like all the characters. It could have used another round of editing however, glanfds being one error that cracked me up, and my personal pet peeve was that the author kept using the word fill instead of feel, which I promise you are not interchangeable haha, but it's definitely better than the majority of books I read on here mistake-wise.

amazing
Format: Kindle
Knot the Bride was a fantastic read! The characters were all amazing and well-developed. It was easy to like them all. Sophia, Luca, Nick, and Gavin were all perfect for each other. It was such a charming story that had me hooked the entire time. I did wish there were POVs from Luca, Nick, and Gavin but it was still an amazing book without it. I am excited to read the next book in the Willowside Omegaverse series! This is definitely a must-read for fans of omegaverse romance!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

3 Star Read,
Format: Kindle
This book wasn't bad, but wasn't my cup of tea. It's highly disappointing because the storyline is so original. There is no real conflict or resolution, so the entire thing feels flat. As a lover of omegaverse books, I know there is a ton of variety out there, and ov is really up to the author. But this one is weird. Omegas have multiple scent glands all over their bodies and go into week long heats every month. Alphas have knots in the middle of their shaft instead of the base, and the knot doesn't always swell, no explanation of when or why. It doesn't engage at all when the mouth is in play. I also didn't enjoy the author's writing style. Each paragraph is only 1 or 2 sentences long, and the entire book reads very stacato. The conversations are stiff and unnatural feeling. Everything is very repetitive, both in word choice and in thought. The same thing is repeated 3 or 4 times over a single page, multiple times over. I ended up doing so much skimming. The first 50% of the book is all slow burn, and the last 50% is almost straight mediocre spice. This wouldn't have been all bad if the grammar and spelling errors didn't start at the exact same time. Tongue is repeatedly misspelled in the middle of the spice.

Cozy Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
This is the true definition of Cozy Omegaverse. LA wedding coordinator meets her pack at the location for a couple’s destination wedding. Low angst because they are scent matched high heat with heats and knots. Everything you love about this genre with very little anxiety. Simply a fun experience to read and a book I will comeback to when I’m in a slump. I simply love reading this book
