What Damage Can Slugs & Snails Cause?

Slugs & Snails can be a highly damaging pest and are particularly fond of succulent seedlings, which if left unprotected, can be completely destroyed in a single night.

As well as attacking the leafy parts of plants, Slugs & Snails will also feast on fruit and vegetable crop. They will chew holes in ripening Strawberries and Tomatoes, and also eat Potatoes, which are of course grown underground, so you may be unaware that such crop is even being attacked.

Identifying Slug & Snail Activity

If your seeds do not appear to have germinated, it is possible that Slugs & Snails have devoured the emerging seedlings underground. Other indices of recent activity may be made apparent by slime trails, or irregular holes with smooth edges found on leaves.

Use Sluggo Slug & Snail Killer For Safe & Organic Control Over Slugs & Snails

Sluggo Slug & Snail Killer is a certified, environmentally friendly pellet for killing Slugs and Snails that is approved for organic growing. The natural active ingredient, ferric phosphate, is safe for use around wildlife and the environment. Once the Slugs and Snails feed on the Spot On pellets, they crawl away to die.

The pellets are rain resistant, and even made more appealing to the Slugs & Snails after swelling up in rainfall.

Where Should I use Sluggo Slug & Snail Killer?

Sluggo Slug & Snail Killer is safe to use around edible and non-edible plants. It is ideal for for use outside on bare ground and around plants. It can be used in enclosed environments if applied in greenhouses, polytunnels, or other garden structures such as cages and cloches, for example.

Sluggo Slug & Snaul Killer pellets are effective against surface feeding slugs and snails. In order to prevent Slugs from feeding underground, on your potatoes for instance, try using our Slug Killer Nematodes.

When Should I Spot On Slug Killer?

Sluggo Slug & Snail Killer can be used all year round, simply apply when Slug or Snail infestations are evident.

How Do I Apply Sluggo Slug & Snail Killer?

Sprinkle the pellets evenly on the area you wish to treat at approximately 5g per square metre. One box of 1kg treats approximately 150sqm. Applications are best made in the evening when slugs start feeding and in damp conditions, after rain.

What Is Sluggo Slug & Snail Killer Made Up Of?

The ferric phosphate formula is a natural active ingredient, wildlife friendly and safe for the environment. It has been certified and approved by the Organic Farmers and Growers (OF&G), amongst others. It consists of pelleted bait containing 8.1g/kg ferric phosphate.

Please note that, although wildlife friendly and much safer than traditional pesticide based slug pellets, the product label will warn against permitting pets to consume large quantities of the pellets. Please therefore ensure your pets do not consume large amounts of the pellets and apply according to the label instructions.

Squeakerless
It is very life like. Held up well but is starting to show some wear after 6 months. I attempting to repair a couple of holes that have shown up. The sqeakerless is nice but would love a noiseless squeaker. I would give 5 stars if I can patch the holes.

Almost 2 years now! Super strong and the puppers loves it. NO SQUEAKER!!!! YAY
Nov 2022 marks 2 years it's now near Oct 2022 unless this thing completely falls apart in the next month it's gonna easily make 2 years. I honestly see this going 3-4 years. There is little damage still. Just a tear near the ear that isn't spreading and the tail is still showing the tiny amount of white. This thing is a beast! Video is from almost Oct 2022. 1 year and 2 months on (last three pics are of it currently) and it's still holding up nearly perfectly. Bought this in Nov of 2020 Jan 2022 it's still around while all other toys are destroyed. This is completely worth every single penny. 6 month update: See pictures for the only damage to the toy so far. Note the tail is the place my girl tends to offer me to grab. She also gnaws on that area and the ears. The one ear has fur missing now. Eyes are still good to go as they are stitched rather than separate plastic eyes. However for 6 months of dog abuse, I'd say the toy is holding up quite well. I feel I'll get close to a year out of it maybe a bit more or less. The pupper girl always destroys her toys. This one has lasted quite a while compared to the others. I don't see this falling apart for a while. I believe we may get a year or more out of it. Well worth the price!

not for aggresive chewers
This premium priced toy did not last 15 minutes with my 14 month old 34 poundf Labradoodle. I had great expectations based on the description but the very cute squirrel toy did not last, First hole was through one of the eyes and the internal stuffing was then spread everywhere.

Perfect for a hound puppy
I have a difficult time finding plush toys that won’t immediately fall apart AND doesn’t have any secret squeakers. It’s bigger than I expected, his long hound mouth can barely fit the body inside - and it is very thick that it satiates the bite and catch component. He absolutely loves it, he will bounce it, chase after it and then pass out for a nap once he is done. He knows the toy by name and brings a lot of joy.. Highly recommend.

Cute, soft, quiet and durable
This stuffy is HUGE! I was expecting it to be half this size. We're happy to have a stuffy that does *NOT* have a squeaker. We're finding it to be very sturdy. My 4 month old puppy is a terrier mix and she loves to attack and shake stuffies and you can't tell this thing has been abused at all. Looks the same a 2 weeks later as it did new. It's one of her favorites and we love it because its quiet. Should last a long time. This is an update 4 months after purchase. The red squirrel continues to be a favorite with my puppy. With other plush toys, she tears them apart in 10 minutes. This one, somehow, has lasted months. Over time, she has pulled off the tail, the ears, and two of the legs, but the body is still intact. Amazing!
