Fiddle Leaf Fig is the most iconic statement plant of the last decade — and for good reason. Its enormous, violin-shaped leaves are a rich, deep green with a leathery texture and prominent veining that makes each one look almost sculptural. A well-grown Fiddle Leaf Fig becomes a genuine focal point in any room, growing into a tall, branching indoor tree that commands attention and transforms a space entirely.

Good for beginners? It requires more consistent care than beginner plants. Fiddle Leaf Figs are sensitive to inconsistent watering, sudden temperature changes, and being moved. They reward growers who find the right spot and commit to consistent care.

Safe for cats and dogs? Ficus lyrata is toxic to pets if ingested. The sap can also irritate skin. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.

Light needs: Bright indirect to some filtered direct light is ideal. A spot near a large north or east-facing window works well. Avoid harsh direct midday sun and very low light — both will cause leaf drop.

Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Do not overwater — soggy roots are the most common cause of failure. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Avoid moving it once settled as it dislikes changes. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to keep them dust-free and glossy.

great product
Style: AVR-S770H
I bought the Denon S770H to replace my 20 year old Optimus receiver. I wasn't looking to go crazy on cost but wasn't afraid to put up a little extra money either so I chose middle of the road for Denon. When I put this in my cart I was expecting to pay $649 plus but was pleasantly surprised to see a $200 price drop by the time I pulled the trigger on the purchase. Product came quick and I set it up the next day. I am only using the 5.1 set up at this time but the way the on screen set up walks you through everything it is a breeze. The AVR analyzes each speaker position individually to optimize the settings and provides the best balances possible. This receiver takes my old speakers to a new level of enjoyment without buying anything else (at this time). Watching a Football game it makes the sound come as though you are actually in the stadium. Love it! Still haven't tried all of the options for inputs yet, but I'm sure there will not be any disappointments. I would highly recommend Denon.

Sony STR-AN1000 Malfunctioning
Style: STR-AN1000 AV Receiver only
I had the previous model which started Malfunctioning after about 10 years so I decided to replace it with this. I bought the 'renewed' new model. This started failing almost immediately. The logic constantly malfunctions; the input selection stopped working, the remote doesn't respond, it goes into mute. I'm unplugging it every few days to get the unit to thing to start functioning again. Initially I thought it was operator error but the errors started increasing with frequency. The malfunctions seemed similar to my old 8 year old model. I got less than 6 months of use out of this and now I have to replace it. Specs might be good on paper, the sound is decent for its class but I think that even my 10-year old 1050 should have lasted longer.

FM Antenna
Style: STR-AN1000 AV Receiver only
The Sony receiver is a good piece of equipment but it lacks an FM antenna to receive channel's in the local area. I understand signal propagation, bandwidth, side lobs and RF dead spots and bit more. I can get a $12 box radio set it up in the same spot and the reception is great. nuff said
