As it matures, it develops a palm-like trunk that may eventually branch out to create a multi-headed silhouette.
Because of its upright and arching habit, it is frequently used as a dramatic focal point in Mediterranean-style gardens, coastal landscapes, or as a centerpiece in large ornamental containers. This plant is tough and adaptable. Once established, it is resistant to salt spray and wind, making it a favorite for seaside properties.
