Description
lavender plant name Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead-Strain'This is true English Lavender with exceptionally fragrant foliage and flowers. Despite the common name, this is a Mediterranean native. As such, it needs excellent drainage and full sun. Do not attempt to grow on overly fertile or moist soil. Light, sandy soil preferred. We grow l. angustifolia as it is the easiest to overwinter in the Hudson Valley. 'Munstead Strain' is a compact variety with silvery foliage and lavender blue flowers. Zones: 5 to 9
