Alocasia macrorrhiza ‘Stingray’ | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Not pet-safe
Summary: This Alocasia's wavy, upward-curving leaves mimic a stingray in motion—adding a splash of whimsy and tropical flair to any indoor space.
✨ Why You'll Love It
- Unique leaf shape that looks like a swimming stingray—a true botanical conversation piece
- Compact yet dramatic: ideal for shelves, side tables, or small urban flats
- Air-purifying foliage brings jungle vibes into your home
- Perfect for tropical plant collectors or lovers of quirky houseplants
- Height: approx. 25 cm | Pot size: 12 cm
🌞 Light & Placement
Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves, while too little will dull its vibrant green. Ideal for east- or north-facing windows in European homes.
💧 Water & Humidity
Keep soil consistently moist but never soggy. Loves high humidity—perfect for kitchens or bathrooms. Mist regularly or use a pebble tray to maintain tropical conditions.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Thrives in well-draining, airy potting mix with added perlite or orchid bark. Repot every 1–2 years in spring as it grows.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Not safe for pets or children. Keep out of reach, as ingestion can cause irritation or more serious reactions.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Moderate grower, forming striking new leaves from a central rhizome. Can be propagated via division during repotting for more stingray babies!
🗖️ Seasonal & Special Care
Growth slows in winter—water less but maintain humidity. Wipe leaves occasionally to prevent dust build-up and promote photosynthesis.
🦠 Common Issues
Watch for spider mites in dry conditions. Yellowing leaves may indicate overwatering or low light. Crisp tips? Bump up humidity!
🧬 Botanical Background
