Football Lily Haemanthus Bulb: Bring a Touch of Bold Beauty to Your Garden

The Football Lily, also known as the Haemanthus Multiflorus, is a stunning bulbous perennial renowned for its unique, globe-shaped flower clusters. These clusters, aptly named for their resemblance to a football, boast vibrant red or orange blooms that create a truly eye-catching display in any garden.

Planting:

  • Timing: Plant your Football Lily bulb outdoors in spring after the last frost date. In colder climates, pot culture is recommended, allowing you to bring the plant indoors during winter.
  • Location: Choose a well-draining location with full sun exposure. These bulbs appreciate warmth and light.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix or garden soil amended with sand and compost. Ensure the soil is loose and aerated.
  • Planting depth: Plant the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards, covering it with about 2-3 times its own depth of soil.

Care:

  • Watering: Water regularly during the growing season, allowing the top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to bulb rot. Reduce watering during the dormant period.
  • Fertilizing: Feed your Football Lily with a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season. Stop fertilizing during the dormant period.
  • Dormancy: After flowering, the leaves may die back, indicating the plant is entering dormancy. Stop watering and allow the bulb to rest until new growth appears in spring.
  • Winter Protection: In colder climates, dig up the bulbs in autumn after the first frost and store them in a cool, dry place with good ventilation. Replant them in spring once the danger of frost has passed.

Tips:

  • Deadhead spent flower clusters to encourage more blooms.
  • Protect your Football Lily from slugs and snails, which can damage the leaves and flowers.
  • Be aware that all parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested. Keep away from children and pets.

Enjoy the vibrant blooms and unique beauty of the Football Lily in your garden with proper planting and care!

The softest skin you will ever have without any expensive products!!
Great for removing dead skin and peach fuzz. A lot of other blades have the little teeth that are great for preventing scrapes and cuts but don’t quite get close enough for me. You do have to be careful because they are very, very sharp and you can cut yourself. It does have rounded edge that is very helpful in preventing the little cuts. My skin is super smooth and my makeup goes on amazing after using. As a 47 year old that makes a huge difference.

Do not purchase
Size: #10R, Style: Pack of 10
Not sharp enough and does not work no matter what products you put under it to remove hair and how you use it. The durability is very cheap and it is not valuable even if it’s for less than $15. I would not recommend this product for your body including your face, upper lips, under arms, and anywhere on your body.

Individually wrapped blades for hygiene
Size: #14R, Style: Pack of 20
Very hygienic that it comes in individual packaging! Every blade comes with a cover and a small sandpaper to keep the blades sharp! Perfect to keep reusing on their own.

Great for Peach Fuzz, But Not as Sharp as I Expected
Size: #14R, Style: Pack of 20
I really liked that each dermaplaning blade is individually packaged, which helps keep them clean and sanitary until you’re ready to use them. As a hairstylist/barber who works with sharp tools every day, I did not feel like these blades were particularly sharp. That may actually be a positive for someone who is new to dermaplaning and wants something a little less aggressive. I used them on dry skin, but you can also use a facial oil for more glide. They did a nice job removing peach fuzz and left my skin feeling smooth afterward. Just be sure not to use them over active acne or irritated areas. While they worked well on facial hair, I didn’t notice much additional exfoliation from my first use. I’ll continue using them every couple of weeks and see how they perform over time. Overall, a decent option, especially for removing peach fuzz.
