It tolerates general household conditions, and unlike many common houseplants, Aglaonema Simplex is a hidden gem for paludariums, ripariums, terrariums, and emersed aquarium growth where its roots can remain consistently moist while its foliage grows above the waterline. Its deep green color is beautiful and its slow growth habit makes it an excellent choice for adding structure, size and height to planted displays.
Like other rhizome plants, the rhizome should remain exposed and not be completely buried, as this may cause the plant to rot. Over time, established plants can be divided by separating sections of the rhizome to create new plants. Care requirements are comparable to other popular aroids such as Anubias, Bucephalandra, and many Philodendron species.
